Free College Education or Free Healthcare?

If you choose College you have to meet certain requirements:

I'm not a fan of a free lunch but, what is one to do with the free healthcare after one recieves it? If one gets a free education one can use it to better himself and his nation. It would be a lot more productive to helping people than say giving them free medicine, in the long run that is. Not the short run.

Seeing as how most jobs require a college education and those jobs have health benefits I'd choose the education.

There is nothing as a free lunch. Somebody ends up paying for it.

Based on the information given, I think that I would rather have free healthcare. With free healthcare, it will help everyone, medically speaking, while only a certain few have a 4.0 GPA, thus only helping the smartest population.

Initially my first thought was “free college” because then people would be able to go to college and afford the healthcare. Yet, you stated a 4.0 GPA would be a requirement for the free college and that changed my view entirely. I am currently in college now and was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA for 3 years, but it has now dropped to 3.93 because I had a difficult course and wasn’t quite able to make that A grade.

If free college was based on a 4.0 GPA this would increase cheating because students will do whatever necessarily to get that A and it may not be studying. This would also put pressure on the professors. There are honestly some professors out there that make it very difficult for the student to get an “A”. They think a “C” is average and acceptable and means you passed the course.

This would also just increase the system of a student’s learning based on a grade system. In college, students should want to learn and absorb the information versus just doing what is necessary to get the grade. This may mean you take a little longer on the material and accept a B, but get more out of the course. This would decrease this learning environment if money was the sole factor.

Well, considering how hard it is to be "made" from an education and how lazy people are becoming, free healthcare might actually do some good.
