GCSE's
I've noticed lots of people wanting to do more than the set amount of GCSE's but are not allowed as it is supposedly 'too stressful.' I was wondering if we (the pupils) should decide how many GCSE's we do ( 11 minimum.)

11 minimum? Don't you mean maximum? The most amount of GCSEs you can take at the moment is twelve, if you are in top group maths and English and take dance instead of core P.E. I think sometimes people get carried away with what they can and can't do, and some people are just lazy. You have to force more GCSEs on the ones that can, and limit the GCSEs of the ones who can't. Right now there is an element of choice in how many GCSEs you can take. If you are terrible at science you can take a BTEC instead, and you can swap two options for one BTEC module. There's one lad in my class who only took three GCSEs and three BTECs, whereas some of the more able students took eleven GCSE's. I think most people on average take about 9 or 10. I think the real issue is choosing which GCSEs you can take rather than how many. I dislike how schools have to limit their options. For example, I wish my school did a psychology GCSE, and didn't force me to take a business option so they can get extra funding for being a "business and enterprise" school. 339 days ago | Side: Set
Yes, meaning, that everyone has to do at least 11. What i am saying is, if they want to do more than 11 then they should be allowed. If they want to do 15, then that should be allowed. If they are capable of doing so, why hold them back? I am not talking about what is currently happening, i am saying that this SHOULD happen, that pupils should be allowed to do more than usual if they wish to. 339 days ago | Side: Choose
