German Cars or Italian Cars?

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Pagani

BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, etc.

No argument at all. German-made automobiles: Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, Audi...these are all incredibly well-built and reliable, as well as being pretty sleek-looking, to boot. The Italian cars: Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Fiats...they're cars that breakdown easily, even though they look nice (honestly, most of them just look gaudy).

you must to be kidding right? you wanna talk about engine? or right. first of all Ferrari It is the oldest surviving team in Grand Prix racing, having competed since 1932, and statistically the most successful Formula One team in history with a record of 15 drivers' championships. As a constructor, Ferrari has 16 constructors' championships. mercedes, bmw and porsche did never won any title about best constructor.

second if germans are so superior tell me why they are always stick their big nose inside italian yeard? lol

if germans have so better engine they will no need to hire all italians for their company. Vw bought "Italdesing giugiaro, Walter de silva and many other italian engineer and designer.

A ferrari, lamborghini or maserati it cost 5 or 6 times more than a cheap bmw or mercedes. everybody can afford a bmw but not so many a ferrari or maserati.

give me a break or you are the classic pathetic german dude, that wanna try to be superior to italian car but is always in italy for still their experince or you are an american with some germans ancestry that never own a ferrari simply because you cannot afford one. so you are probably own a cheap bmw.

than another things is that? how can people compare ferrari and maserati or lamborghini with a bmw ,mercedes and audi? ferrari and any other italian luxury cars are "exotic cars" and are not made for drive every day simply because they are particular cars and not regular like bmw or mercedes.

then i owned many german cars, and like everybody can tell you, they are nice cars but with a lot problems and maintanence that you need to do.

anyway totyota have less problem than germans cars? are now Japanese better cars then german since they required less maintanence?

italians have better cars for engine and design. who say no, is just people that cannot afford luxury italian cars.

funny germans need italian ducati for compete with bmw motorbikes. this world is full of ipocrit.

Rolf my point exactly quality is associated with "MADE IN ITALY" the prototype for all race engines started with the italians. Jealousy breeds contempt

Clearly nobody understands. Italian Cars often have better designs and performance, but they aren't well made and break down a lot. Since they are expensive, the repairs and insurance cost a fortune

BMW has good looking models with alot of horsepower and it gives more features.

Although Italian cars (namely super cars) are indeed stunning, they only satisfy the minority that can afford to own one. German cars are known be be less expensive and much more reliable than Italian cars, allowing them to satisfy more customers, including me. I drive a $10,000 '97 BMW M3 and I get just as much fun out of it as my father does with his $100,000 Ferrari that needs $2,500 maintenance ever block.

Side: BMW

That's true. I love the old M3s. But, I'll still prefer a Porsche 944, which is easy to get in the UK for about £5k. By the way, just out of interest, what Ferrari does your dad drive?

Side: BMW
2 points

A Porsche is better for the "fun" aspect of driving, but BMW's are more economical. But who wants convenience at the cost of fun, Porsche all the way!

It was a 360 Modena. He has since sold it, but i thought it made a good example for my argument. :)

it was not a wise comparasion. you can't judge a car by it brand. but by it model and type

918 spyder vs la ferrari (it the same hybrid hypercar) in fact 918 is better almost in everything (it the fastest hypercar around the nurburgring (under 7 minutes)

maserati quatroporte vs mercedes s 63 amg : in fact s63 amg is better in power, acceleration and features. and it offer a lower price. so it will be more reliable

f12 berlinetta vs 911 turbo s : both of them is a grand tourer car. and the turbo s have a lower price with crazy acceleration (0-60 mph in 2.6 second)better features etc

in fact. german cars is mor reliable

but

italian car is the masterpice of art. you will buy an italian car cuz you love it

When it comes to luxury performance vehicles, Germany and Italy represent the two traditional powerhouses. Both nations produce iconic sports cars and sedans, but there are good arguments on both sides over which is superior. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.

On the side of German automakers such as BMW, Audi, Opel and Mercedes-Benz lies core values of precision engineering, cutting-edge technology and safety. For example, their chassis setups utilize sophisticated suspensions allowing both a smooth ride and confident handling. Interiors typically exude an understated elegance mixing leather, wood and aluminum. The cabins feature the latest computerized controls and infotainment centers. German engines focus on power but also efficiency, combining strong acceleration with respectable fuel economy aided by turbocharging and sophisticated transmissions.

Meanwhile Italy's brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati elicit passion through seductive styling and thrilling performance. Their chassis are tuned more single-mindedly towards a sporting character, with responsive steering and tenacious cornering grip although the ride quality suffers on uneven pavement. Interiors showcase Italian flair with sumptuous leathers, carbon fiber trims and contrast stitching options. The engines unleash enormous power controlled by highly capable transmission and differentials underlying the rear-drive orientation.

Enthusiasts on both sides cite the strengths of these contrasting philosophies. Supporters of the German approach value the balance of exhilarating autobahn cruising without sacrificing daily drivability. Fans of Italian cars counter that imperfections simply reflect the machines' souls and driver connection. At the limit, they may require skill to tame but ultimately provide greater emotional rewards.

While subjective factors make definitive judgments impossible, distinguishing traits found among both German and Italian marques have firmly established each region as pillars among the world's luxury brands.

Don't think I've gone mad. The germans are good at building things, full stop. However, most german cars - no matter how fast or practical they are - are just, well, cars. Italian cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, erm...Fiat, are built with passion. I would rather drive a Porsche 911 than a Fiat Panda, but that is an exception. For an example of something that isnt an exception - Ferrari 458 Italia or VW Beetle? Exactly.

Porsche 911

Carrera

Audi R8

Mercedes SLS AMG. These are not just cars.

Ferrari 458 Italia or VW Beetle?

You can't compare the two! One costs $19,000 and the other costs $240,000. That's almost 13 times more.

If the question is just which one you like better, not which one is more practical, i would go with italian. Also dutch supercars are really nice, but no one ever seems to realize that.
