One for the those who follow the Abrahamic concept of God; Jews, Christians, Muslims.

Why do natural disasters take place?

Would prefer answers only from the target audience.

I believe horrible things like natural disasters happen because we live in an imperfect world. And uh... yeah, that's about it.

Our world is fine when you look at it from a scientific viewpoint, disregarding any involvement of a 'creator'. We don't rely on magic here, but he process of life and death which applies to all things, even stars.

Yeah, I agree with that. Everything is fine. Which is why I said, natural disasters happen because of natural meteorological causes.

Natural disasters happen so that Allah can test us to see if we have or will have faith in Him.

Natural disasters take place that have nothing to do with God contrary to what some Evangelicals espouse.

Because water heats up and wind blows.

Or something. ^__^

In all seriousness, don't natural disasters happen because of things that are... natural? Like meteorological forces coming together to make shit happen?

2 points

Yes, but I believe this to be a debate based on the problem of evil. That is to say, how can an omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent being allow natural disasters to occur?

'Those are supernatural disasters. God did it. he hates japanese ppl and creole types.

or something or other.'
