Right, but guns help. While you can just as easily kill someone with a knife, you can't kill 30 people in a matter of seconds.

By that logic, we should be fine to just give civilians nuclear bombs... "hey, nukes don't kill people, people kill people, and we should focus on helping the people not controlling the weapons."

Yeah... that's a form of gun control. And what most are calling for right now is more rigorous screening and regulation. I.e., someone with a history of mental illness should not be allowed to get a gun. Or, if you misuse a gun, you should not be able to keep it. And you shouldn't be able to get guns online or at gun shows without needing registration of any kind.

We have plenty of weapons. The government already says that it's illegal to build nuclear bombs in your garage. Is that tyranny? Is it tyranny to make it illegal to own dynamite, or buy fireworks in certain areas? Why do you think we have laws at all?
