That probably has more to do with the larger number of religious Americans than non-religous. By sheer numbers, it's easier to have more people giving more. That doesn't mean that religious people are better than non-religous, or the other way around. It simply means that people give various amounts of money, and some people are religious and others aren't. Correlation does not imply causation.

That's because those research studies count donating to your church on Sunday as donating to charity. That isn't giving to charity, that's giving to church.

The only reason why religious people give more is because there brainwashed to do so! because if they don't give to the church or a charity promoted by the church god may punish them in the after life, so empty your pockets before its to late to repent!!

3rd world countries are also christian, like liberation theology in south america and africa. regardless the studies still stand.
