Has religion lost its strength in the western world
With little boys going to church with their mamma on sunday and skipping school 3 days a week and taking their gun down town to sell crack. With little catholic single teenage mums becoming more frequent, not to mention the bad press the churches are getting. Is religion losing it's standing for helping keep the countries people in check.

I think what's happening is that the believers have started to "dilute" their faith to a point where their "faith" is NOT of a particular doctrine anymore. And yet they still declare themselves to be believers of the faith. You hear it all the time. Christians saying "Oh I don't have to believe everything that's written in the Bible to be a Christian" or "I don't agree with some of the stuff said in the Bible or by the representing Church, but I'm still a Christian". Muslims do it all the time as well. It's almost like they are scared of not being a Christian or a Muslim. So they employ these mental gymnastics to find a compromise between their true beliefs and the guilt of "betraying" their official belief. True. Like with any recipe, to have true success, you have to follow it completely. Sure you can add your own flare and decoration to make it you but if you change the ingredients it tends to lose it's whole structure. I think it is. Churches dont seem to have the large groups that they used to have, people are opting for marriages to be done outside of church groups, and people are holding Namings for their babies rather than christinings. More and more people seem to be talking about christianity in a bad way, and those who still believe dont seem to actually follow the teachings.
