Help! Our nation is drowning in left wing propaganda!

The liberal media widely reported that actor Jussie Smollett was a victim of a hate crime, when it subsequently appeared to have been a hoax;

That a high school student wearing a pro-Trump Make America Great Again hat at the March for Life somehow acted improperly when he stood smiling while a stranger persistently beat a drum in his face;

Calling the "Washington's Birthday" holiday the made-up name "Presidents' Day," which it never was under federal law;

The deliberate manipulation of President Trump's live Oval Office broadcast by a local Fox affiliate editor/technician;

The uncorroborated, obscene sexual allegation published by The New Yorker as part of the Kavanaugh smear; the panic reporting for several days prior to the 2018 Midterm elections that a dozen fake bombs mailed to prominent Democrats were real;

The New York Times story that the investigation of President Trump began after James Comey was fired and not in the Spring of 2016. On the day documents were released verifying that the late Sen. John McCain was a major player in the coup plot against President Trump, the MSM reported Trump's reaction as if it were some petty vendetta related to McCain's POW status or McCain's vote to save Obamacare.

Political fake news is designed to push an agenda, typically the liberal one. Non-political clickbait is designed to attract internet traffic, attention, or sales. Clickbait websites often lack known publishers hindering lawsuits against them for libel or slander.[5] In many cases, clickbait websites resolve to IP addresses located outside the United States

The liberal media

Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky overturn one of the dominant myths in our political culture - the notion that mainstream media have a liberal bias.

The stories that get told have a lot to do with who can afford to work in media. Despite the constant “liberal media” refrain in conservative circles, what’s actually happened in the last 20 years is that American media has become increasingly owned by conservatives. To the extent that a bias exists in mainstream media, it’s certainly an urban bias thanks to the shutdown or massive downsizing of local and regional papers throughout the country. And, as I pointed out in part three of this series, there’s a certain amount of bias that goes along with plummeting wages in journalism. But while the vast majority of editors and reporters may identify as Democrats, their employers are conservative, more often than not. The most high-profile example this year is Sinclair Media, an avowedly conservative organization that, thanks to an unprecedented relaxing of FCC rules, may soon control the local news in 72 percent of American homes.

Rather predictably, Brontoraptor is either unwilling or unable to get more than three words into a post without telling a lie.

Yes, the biased Liberal media is so plain to see, anyone who denies it is an absolute deceptive biased joke and a total waste of time to debate.

A five year old could see the blatant bias against the GOP.

Just look at Saturday Night Live and see the soft core humor used against those on the Left vs the hard core demeaning humor used against the Right.

I can literally watch a TV news program for less than 30 seconds and instantly know it is a Left wing biased fake news network. No matter how well our economy is doing, it is always negative news towards Republicans.

Fox News is the only network that does not spin every article against the Right.

There is a lot of leftist propaganda, but I think conflating leftism with liberalism is generally not a good idea.

The liberal media

The Myth of the Liberal Media: An Edward Herman Reader

The Myth of the Liberal Media contends that the mainstream media are parts of a market system and that their performance is shaped primarily by proprietor/owner and advertiser interests. Using a propaganda model, it is argued that the commercial media protect and propagandize for the corporate system. Case studies of major media institutions--the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer--are supplemented by detailed analyses of "word tricks and propaganda"

As a scholar of political media, I was intrigued by a recent News & Observer column by Justin Haskins, a researcher at The Heartland Institute discussing media bias. However, Haskins again pushed the tired argument that the news media is dominated by a liberal bias.

This argument has been around for decades, and the evidence for it has been built on misleading evidence and faulty logic. The idea of a “liberal media” is, in fact, a myth, one that has enabled the rise of a right-wing media infrastructure that helped to sow doubts and misinformation during the last election. The liberal media myth must be debunked once and for all.

The Myth of the Liberal Media...

I certainly agree that the media is not at all liberal, however liberal does not equate to left wing. I'd say there is a pro corporate and pro establishment bias. When Americans say liberal they mean left wing, and those instances of falsehoods highlighted here do support left wing narratives.

The idea of a “liberal media” is, in fact, a myth, one that has enabled the rise of a right-wing media infrastructure that helped to sow doubts and misinformation during the last election.

Do you mean alternative media or FOX? They've both been around for a long time...

It's common sense really. The narrative might be more believable were we not living in an age of multi-national corporations consumed with the consolidation of capital interests. If you research the matter you will discover that current media platforms are often bought by large companies in a fully operational state. In Britain (a long time ago mind) the media genuinely did have a radical bias, but that all changed with advertising.

however liberal does not equate to left wing.

The media has neither a liberal bias not a left wing bias. Quite the opposite.

Do you mean alternative media or FOX?

I would describe Fox itself as alternative media. It is the flagship product of the Murdoch empire, and Murdoch is a raving far right lunatic with the power to threaten governments.

Yes, the biased Liberal media is so plain to see.

One would quite simply have to be entirely devoid of even a small iota of intellect to believe the media has a liberal bias. Media companies are multi-million dollar businesses and the people who run them are Conservatives. See:-

Sinclair is the largest broadcast company in America. But its partisan politics – and connections to the White House – are raising concerns

Sinclair’s size, rightwing politics and close connections to Donald Trump’s White House are starting to attract attention.

I know I could explain this to you a million times and you would never understand, but the fact is you are viewing reality through the eyes of a stupid person.

Just look at Saturday Night Live and see the soft core humor used against those on the Left vs the hard core demeaning humor used against the Right.

Saturday Night Live is entertainment you prick. There are plenty of entertainment shows espousing right wing views.

I can literally watch a TV news program for less than 30 seconds and instantly know it is a Left wing biased fake news network.

Oh just fuck off. You're a moron. You're not even worth the time.
