Here is one big reason why those on the Left are dead set on separating God from public.
Have you noticed how non Christians often dislike making friends with Chrisitans who don't drink, or don't swear, or don't smoke pot, etc. etc.
I've lived life long enough to agree with many counselors explaining why people tend to gravitate towards others more like themselves. I don't just blindly believe things pyscologists say, but when I see it in life, I know it is probably true.
People obviously surround themselves with others having similar lifestyles or moral values(this is not rocket science). Insecure people hate being around people who make them feel bad about themselves. It's not that Christian friends or spouses purposely try to make people feel guilty. It's the simple reality of who they are that brings out insecurities in others.
I have seen in my own life, that when being with co workers, they act differently towards people who do not swear or drink, etc.
They do not pursue deeper freindships with these people because we basically make them feel bad about themselves for swearing or drinking, etc. etc. I have never judged a co worker for any such things, but the very fact that I did not swear or drink, made them feel insecure about themselves.
Now this is one big reason I believe those on the Left are bent on separating religious expression or mention of moral values from our public. It shines a light on their policies of abortion, sexual orientation awareness, sleeping around, unwed mothers, divorce, smoking pot, you name it. It creates feelings of guilt and shame when living these chosen lifestyles.
The values lifted up from Christianity are at odds with values from the Left's agendas. The Left is silent on the connection between our culture's moral meltdown and the bloated welfare roles and broken families. This is why they must censor any mention of our Christian heritage. It basically bothers what's left of their conscience and makes them feel insecure with their selfish irresponsbility.
It also ushers in the no fault mentality required to grow Government and excuse all accountability for one's choices.
