I know that we got "into it" on the matter of "spanking children", and I understand that in some ways my arguments are not directly relevant to the way you parented based on your comment that you spanked your child once (rather than a frequent source of punishment which is quite different). I would ask you to try and understand that I take the issue of spanking (smacking, excessive yelling, ect.) very seriously for essentially the same reasons I think the videos you and I posted are very serious topics. That is, the people who are the most vulnerable and unable to protect themselves require our protection the most. I am not a pacifist, and I don't want my position on spanking to come across that way. Furthermore, in many ways, I think that our society has created too much protection for gratuitous abuses such as what transpired in the video I posted, and that these people should be facing some kind of further consequences for that type of outrageous behavior (think about what that must do to the person with Down Syndrome or other disabilities when they are forced to lead a life coping not only with their disabilities but further the cruelty of people they come across in daily life). 1

You just said that the Democrat philosophy is to defend the vulnerable from bullying. So ask yourself, what message does supporting the testing and killing of viable Special Need's babies send to fools who would bully them? The message sent is that these Speical children are worthless, expendable, and not deserving of respect. THAT'S THE MESSAGE PEOPLE SUPPORT WHEN VOTING FOR THE DEMOCRAT PARTY OF NO RESTRICTION ABORTIONS. |
