Hey confident fundamentalists! I've a challenge for you.

For those who are not completely sure about the results in their faith, this debate is not.

So, what can you bet on something happening on which you have a lot of faith? (eg. God coming back in some predefined interval; or you being saved from hell; etc.)

Can you bet your soul on that? Of course, if it will definitely happen, then you can lose nothing, and your faith to your deity will be demonstrated

When you do the bet, I'll ban you from the debate so that you can not edit the argument later.

These are the things that must be present in your argument.

1. Your username (yes, you must state it) (no real names or details that can not be verified as yours)

2. Your assertion (the thing you have faith on)

3. Reasons for your belief (can be anything, even as simple as that God is good, but must be present)

4. A footnote that you are typing it out of your free will (that it's not forced at all), you intend to type it, and are not under the influence of any mind altering substances.

5. In the name of *your deity*, saviour or something like that - whoever you'd trust enough in such matters.

6. And, of course, that you bet your soul on it to me (use my username properly)

Though I'd generally prefer you sign it in your blood, that's, sadly, not really available right now. So, let your account suffice for the purpose - we can take care of the context later.

You are free to choose between the dialects of English. Though I prefer it to be in British English.

As an atheist myself, I stand in wonder at the venomous anger you spew out of your mouth toward those who believe. Having stood among them myself for most of my life, I can find no disdain or hatred for them. Overbearing zealots on the other hand are hard to ignore. For them, I have a vigorous dislike that falls far short of hatred and disdain. So I ask you to explain, in all honesty, from where does your vitriol and hatred come.

Hi Dermot. I should have been more clear. Jatin is the target of my question.

Now, atheists do not come in a single size.

Though it isn't anger. It's an invitation for demonstration of faith.

Yes, I myself have stood among them for a long while. In fact, it's been my first introduction to philosophy.

As to the general hatred you talk of, that doesn't universalise to those who believe.

You can comment on this argument if you want to talk about the debate rather than betting your soul.

Though you can also add a new one - I'll be upvoting those who bet their souls on their faith.

I fear Jatin you may have set the bar too high , a fair proportion of fundies on CD are bottom feeders who are unable to tie their shoelaces without help

Oh, no, they won't do the challenge.

I create these debates mainly to quote them in my arguments. Those are won battles by design.

Interesting challenge. I would have no problem taking it, but, I already have. I even have a fiery balls avatar! ;-0 I still believe I'll go to as cool a place as any hypocritical Christian on CD!

Yes, and if they're really idiots and not trolling, then they would take the challenge.

Though it doesn't really matter - there probably are no souls.

You can demand what you want ? Who left you in charge ?

All he's doing is trying to convince himself that he is self-justified, having the right to exist outside of Hell and is exonerated in death.

Oh, look at this!

Stain wants to go drink in the corner, outside of the party.

Comforting others?

Not needed - only you are afraid enough.

Who left you in charge ?

I wonder... Who was your last owner?

Hey, i'd recommend you delete this motion. No one is swearing anything to you especially when we know you well(who you are). You want a philosophy, start your survey on faith on the streets where no one knows you or your believes.

Anyone here who actually do it, is not sane.

1 point

Yes, but I doubt you're sane either way.

And you don't know me well.

Don't worry about betting right away - I didn't even intend it that way. I'll be encouraging you to do so for days to come, and for that I needed a real debate.

As I said, I create these debates mainly to quote them in my arguments. These are won by design - you can't defeat me on what I've already analysed.

Ok. But am i supposed to be bothered by that?

I'll be encouraging you to do so for days to come,

Why don't you give eternity a try, you can reincarnate to come continue always.

And you don't know me well.

At least we know what you stand for in relation to religious beliefs.

you can't defeat me on what I've already analysed.

Huh? Defeat? What battle is this?

And you analysed already, thumbs up, so why are you still maintaining for some days insteading of deleting it now.

This debate is a total pisser, mate! I'm laughing so hard at your challenge to the godists that I think me head might bloody fall off. Good show!

But me thinks you scared the dodders off. As of this writing I've not seen a single one of those blokes take you up on your offer. Guess their faith isn't as strong as they'd have us belidve, eh mate? They know deep down that religion is all bollocks.

Yes, they get a bit...sentimental around parts.

Not like they'd be smart enough either way.

Guess their faith isn't as strong as they'd have us belidve, eh mate? They know deep down that religion is all bollocks.

Yes, though I didn't expect it to have been that way.
