Highest IQ should President

Most people agree that over half the population are not very intelligent in a worldly knowledge sense.  So idiots elect our leaders!  WTF?!  This is scientific proof that democracy is a very inefficient system.  A standardized IQ test could decide all our leaders

Black unemployment is the lowest in American history. You hate African Americans?

Supporting Evidence: African American unemployment rate hits record low (www.cnbc.com)

a) Black unemployment has nothing to do with the debate topic of high IQ of a President,

b) Trump has initiated zero programs regarding black unemployment so he gets zero credit for whether or not it rises or falls

A standardized IQ test could decide all our leaders

What makes you think IQ tests are anywhere approaching sufficient criteria to determine leader status? I generally follow your argument concerning your objections to Democracy and support toward a Meritocracy, however I think your methodology is far overly-simplistic indeed as to "straw-man" your own argument

Side: Yes

I think some minimum requirements for voting should be in order. For example:

They have to be a citizen;

They have to speak, read and comprehend English;

All voter forms should be in English only;

Does their IQ surpass a bucket of chum?;

If they're on welfare, your not eligible to vote... just for starters.

@HighFalutin

I understand the Merit-based system argument (to some extent) and would be interested in exploring that elsewhere--So, I'll push that to the side for a moment.

Now, what I really wanted to raise with you was your statement,

"Does their IQ surpass a bucket of chum?"

Here's the thing about IQ (in brief), although the test undoubtedly is ball-parking/quantifying aspects of "intelligence", it is not at all even remotely approaching a sufficient means to measure what Psychologists claim it as. This is highly-problematic to the point of being dangerous.

Essentially, Psychologists are desperate not to admit that their "science" is really in its extreme infancy to the point of being more of a quasi-Science/Natural Philosophy subject that will ultimately be superseded by Neuroscience in time. Neuroscience, not the modern conception/field of Psychology, is going to be the legitimate Science that sheds light on the matter of Human/Animal/ect. "intelligence" in any definitive format. However, we are nowhere near this point as of yet

Book smart means nothing compared to common sense and moral character. Hitler was intelligent.

I know people who are engineering geniuses, but when it comes to common sense moral values, they are total irresponsible idiots. Their home lives are in shambles.

We just had eight long years of a Liberal President. He could speak so eloquently, but his moral values belonged in the gutter.

Obama supported No Restriction abortions. He supported the right to kill viable Special Need's babies for merely being diverse. That means with all his eloquence, he still lacked simple common sense humanity.

Now most of the Democrat Party fall right in line with his inhumanity like a bunch of mindless sheep. These are inteligent people, but they lack the simplest of humanity.

Obama was hideously weak when it came to foreign affairs as well. He lacked the intellect to understand peace comes through strength.

There is IQ smart, and then there is common sense smart.

Trump lacks in speaking skills, but is a genius when it comes to understanding our economy and what makes it tick. He understands the importance of the working man, focusng on the value of hard work versus career Government dependence.

He has the humanity to care for all innocent life.

I would take him over a thousand geniuses.

You are free to leave anytime you wish. Try that in an authoritarian country! Our system has worked for over 200 years. I WILL say we would have been better off in the LAST election if we had used your IQ scenario, Trump would have lost out to every Republican that was running! But, an intelligent country learns by its mistakes and there isn't a country that hasn't made them! So, IF we survive ours better than Germany did theirs, we should learn! We also must learn, as Germany did, that a lie, told frequently enough and loud enough, becomes the truth (to those with weakened minds). That's Fascist!

Democracy may have its weaknesses, but show me a better one!

What lie did the Nazis tell?

We don’t have a proof to this argument really because no country has ever made the highest IQ as leader

Thx a lot for response

We should nut use have a Iw as a test for paseydunt. Theres a many typologies of intellectualis and the IQ is of the math logics and pattern recognition but a sombaddy can have very smart intelligences in such regards but have knowledge of not politicals. Poeleetikal is not just A boot intelligents in general but also requires a certain type of intelligents, so the highest IQ may no politaekul literacy but be very gewd et dee methseemaytuks

IQ? You mean those made up and arbitrary tests (which of course classify me as a super genius if you are to believe baseless assertions) that tell you are smart based on your ability to drool on some paper? Clearly the commander in chief of the combined armed forces should be selected based on the measurements of certain organs!

But seriously, according to Article Two, Section Two clause 1 of The United States constitution

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

An intelligent person can be a coward, and a coward should not be commander in chief.

You have to take things like that in mind when ELECTING a commander in chief.

Having the highest IQ usually means the person is a highly nonlinear thinker, meaning they can think way outside the box, but struggle to think inside the box. That's not who you want making basic decisions or attempting to inact diplomacy. They are like super smart children. You still have to tell them to look both ways before they cross the street.

This doesn't necessarily hold. IQ tests are more about pattern recognition and mathematical logic, it says nothing about abstract thinking beyond that and many people with low IQs can think "outside the box" for better or for worse. There are many things that an IQ test overlooks and in many cases it's the opposite of what you say. People can have high IQs but have the mentality of a robot or a human calculator so to speak and have very low intelligence in other regards.

@The0bserver

Exactly. I actually intend to make a much longer response on this topic (when time permits) as I created a Thread recently concerning IQ tests.

I can tell you now though (briefly--as a "nugget"), I see a lot of this ("this" being the general argument you laid out) as I am a Math major at Uni. That is, I know a lot of people that would score highly on IQ tests that lack the basic critical thinking ability to escape the confines of the Mammal Snow Globe they were raised into, let alone deeper, more demanding issues, while I also know quite a few people who would score rather low on IQ tests who are much more intelligent than average as they have been able to easily escape the Mammal Snow Globe & enjoy reasoning through many more deeper issues (and have higher-order critical thinking skills in many respects).
