Hillary Doesn't Understand The Word Establishment
She responded, “Well, I have to say, I didn’t understand that at all. Planned Parenthood does so much on the front lines to provide women, and men, healthcare, often low income people, people who don’t have any alternative. And of course, we know that Planned Parenthood has been under attack, constantly, from the Republicans, both in Congress, and in many states. And the Human Rights Campaign has been in the forefront of making sure that LGBT Americans are not discriminated against. They helped to lead the battle for marriage equality. I really don’t understand what he means by that. These are two of the really great human rights, progressive organizations in our country. I’ve worked with both of them a long time. I’ve worked to get results for the people that they represent and serve, and I’m proud to have endorsements from both of them.”
Anchor Wolf Blitzer then followed-up “But are you the establishment?”
Hillary answered, “I just don’t understand what that means. He’s been in Congress, he’s been elected to office a lot longer than I have. I was in the Senate for eight wonderful years, representing New York. He’s been in the Congress for 25. And so, I’ll let your viewers make their own judgment.”
Why is it Hillary does not understand the word "Establishment" ?

I don't think that's the determinative factor. I don't like Hillary, but I've followed her goings on long enough that I feel comfortable saying she isn't an idiot. I think she is cynical and dishonest, and said cynicism and dishonesty ends up leading her to say things that people sometimes mistake for stupidity. Not that that is much better, obviously. 1

More like he better hope the majority of the country still doesn't understand what Bernie Sanders actually is and hates Socialism and runs against one of the candidate he isn't consistently polling above. Don't get me wrong, Sanders doesn't drip with electability, but seriously, Trump and Cruz? Not even the party they are running in likes them, moderates are turned off by them, and the left hates them. Their voter base is even more narrow than Sanders'. 1

Many of us are not against the establishment, as a whole. We understand that nearly everything can be improved on but we don't want to "throw the baby out with the bathwater". We'd rather take what our founding fathers left us and improve on it rather than throw it out, as has happened in Michigan, and start all over again. Sure, we need to monitor the "establishment", but, if we keep the "established" voting rights, the "established Constitution and as those founding fathers said, work on a "more perfect union", we will improve. When we throw out elected officials and replace them with our own "commissars", we are beginning a NEW "establishment"....one that failed in the USSR! |
