What is homework? Homework is a task given to students by teachers to be completed outside of class. Everyone in life goes to school to learn. After each class students are given homework on the topic done in school. Homework which is usually done at home has to be handed in to the teacher, this is the due date. School which takes up half of the day and lessons which take up another three hours, give students less time to finish homework. This homework ,might take a long period of time to be completed leads to late night sleep and unfinished homework for due date. This can also lead students to fall asleep in class. Homework take away most of our leisure time and recreational activities. Students with useful talent can be wasted because of no time to practice and enjoy doing thing that you want to do.There is no achievement with finished homework. Most of the homework given in schools now need the use for the internet some students might not have the resources to go online or an inequitable situation in which they don't have finance to do all of that will be behind in class. The main thing about homework is that is gives students pressure and stress. Side: For

If a student spends all day making mischief he'll never get any school work done. While I think that the amounts given to students are absurd, the fact that most kids don't get it done in the time allotted requires them to take extra effort to succeed, even if that means such vast quantities as they are given. Doing homework at school would not be homework it would be just more schoolwork. You need homework to prepare you to be more prepared at your work of job to be trusted to remember to do things without your boss hovering over you constantly. Homework is a learning experience Side: Against
Taking homework for granted would be understandable for most teachers to decide from time to time but thats not what i'm here for.I'm here to talk about the NEGATIVE TEAM that will always win a debate, debate, debate. Where is 'school in homework' well i'll explain to you what Home work ACTUALLY MEANS. Homework is extra education that teachers give you nearly every weak. The word home is at home not at school and the word work means work done anywhere in the world practically,NOT SCHOOL So thats why home work should be done at home. Now that i have explained it to you. You might have a better idea what the word HOMEWORK MEANS Side: Against
As much as I don't love doing homework, it is still a necessary part of an education. I have found that I don't truly understand the concept of what I am learning until after I have done the homework that goes along with it. Had I not done homework questions and practiced equations or writing essays myself, I am sure I would fail every quiz. Just because a teacher assigns homework does not mean they are a bad teacher. Everyone has different learning styles and may like solving problems a different way than the teacher explained. A student would never be able to know that without trying it for themselves. Lastly, I would like to ask the creator of this argument what they expect to happen to them when they get a job some day. When you go to work, you go to WORK. Not sit around and absorb whatever is going on like in a classroom. It's only a preparation for your future career, and for life itself. It's not easy and there's no way of getting out of work. No homework keeps students in touch with their studies. due to this students don't forget what has been taught in school. although teachers shouldn't overload students with lots of homework to do in one day. also if school hours are long then students should get moderately less homework. Side: Against
gosh it shud be abolished coz genrally a child does not find time 2 do with his/her studies resulting in bad marks => scoldings frm parents & teachers(actually cheaters) but it doesnt mean that no work shud b given as h.w. coz it gives us a practice,a recollection of wat we've studied at school Side: Against
lets face this!! the truth is homework shall not be abolished as because self studies are important....... People homework is not at all stealing your family time or playing time.....i myself am a student..i do get time for playing and my family...really come on do you still think homework is waste??? Side: Against
That family time and activity--which gets you more acquainted with your relatives (as if that matters)--gets nothing intellectually accomplished (unless of course your father is Richard Dawkins). Given that that is not likely the case: homework can be intellectually stimulating (esp. if you actually care about learning); and knowing the percentage of poverty-stricken areas who care about out-of-school festivities where the drop-out rate is high; then, I would plausibly correlate kids/teens not doing there homework (aka 'out-of-school intellectual stimulation') with contribution factors in poverty America. If you can tell me with a straight face that 7-8 hrs. of school & 5 days a week--not including the amount of time kids/teens spend wasting in class, or the disruptions causing teachers to not teach--is enough to educate anyone... well... hope your kids follow your guidelines... watch them become Americas #1 lawyer. Or, Americas #1 gangbanger. (I would have said drug dealer but "#1" would actually be good, it shows a sense of business/leadership.) Side: Against

Abolished is too extreme. It should be managed. The majority of classes do not need homework to be done. Others do. Learning to write term papers, for example, inevitably will require outside work because there isn't enough time in a school day to do all the library research, reading, planning, and writing, within the time block formats around which most schools are designed. And it is absolutely an essential skill for kids to have by the time of graduation. There will be many times in life, even if they don't go to college, when they need to assemble their thoughts and document and argue and write, and they'll have to do it on their own then, not in a school library with a teacher over their shoulder. But it's true you don't need homework from every class (or even from most classes), and it's true you don't want to crush the private lives of kids by making brutal piles of homework on them.
