CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

I thought that the debates were only going to appear in This Community, but then I see them clogging up the rest of the create debate community, sooo I delete them.
Almost no one would ever see the activity in that community which is why you created those debates for the sole purpose of gaining points, which is a violation of Terms of Service.
Oh! You were just getting ready to delete them, weren't ya? It was just a HUGE coincidence that you deleted every one of them minutes after I put them on the home page... Bwhahahaha! Yeah... right
To say you were planning to delete all those point farming debates... that's just a lie. There is no evidence to suggest that's true. If that were the case, then why make the debate in the first place? You were point farming and you thought you were going to get away with it... you didn't.
You joined the "Point Farm" Community. You created several debates in that Community and you replied to yourself over and over again. You gained about 100 points doing so... How is that not point farming?
I had an old youth pastor who's friend was atheist and my youth pastor told him to test God. Now his friend was kind of cautious on testing God. So my old youth pastor told him to start tithing and giving money to God. So he decided to do that, and after awhile when he started tithing, he started getting more money and things that have been going great for him.
So one thing to test the existence of God is by tithing.
God expects Christians to tithe because it's another way of worshiping Him and God told Christians to tithe because that's what it says in the Bible. It reminds us that all of the resources that Christians have aren't there's but Gods because God provided them through His grace. So basically we are paying back God on what He gave to us and provided.
God can use the money that Christians tithe to their local churches. One of the many ways he can do so is by using the money for tithing they can send people to do missionary work in different countries and they use that money to help plant churches in various different countries, spread the Gospel, feed and help the poor and care for orphans.
I didn't respond to Srom because I said to myself, if what he just told me makes sense to him, well then there is no way in hell I could get him to see how wrong in every way God is. (He is more brainwashed then a Goa`uld host from Star Gate SG 1)
Lol the first thing I though about was, so Gods a fucking mobster?
I mean because thats exactly what tithing is, its extortion on a comic scale.
From here on out, I think we should refer to God as "God Gotti".
First and foremost we cannot give God anything because everything belongs to him,in the heavens and on the earth. Second we contribute to the this good news being spread throughout the world not under compulsion like some churches putting pressure on you for doing what God know sometimes you're not able to do financially.

Yes God does send people to do missionary work because God tells people what they need to do. Like He will touch their heart and pull them in the direction on what they need to do. It's not their decision, it's God's decision.
I see. Do you have any means of verifying whether or not a supernatural entity (God) is actually using phones (a unit of speech, not the device) to communicate to people? Or that he actually makes physical contact with human organs?
In order for this to be a good test you have to rule out alternative, reasonable explanations and sheer coincidence. One explanation that comes to mind is that sympathetic, altruistic people are in general happier. This has been proven. By giving away his money his attitude towards other people have changed, making him more charismatic and therefore giving him an edge in whatever he is doing.
Look at the example of Cain and Abel. Cain gave something to God, but it was rejected, while Abel's giving to God was accepted. This differentiation of give is similar to the notion of being tempted. God can be tempted in an external way, but that does not mean that He Himself is tempted internally. One might be able to give something to God, but it is in no way accepted as having been given unless a Christian. Why? Because, as revealed in Hebrews 11, Abel has given out of faith, and out of reverence and love to God, with a mind towards the promise that God had told Adam and Eve, which was that God would be sending a singular male offspring to crush evil, which was Christ, his was accepted. Cain did not give out reverence for God, nor our of love for God. His heart, all throughout the story, was continually being hardened, against God and against anyone who was against him. Thus, only a true Christian, one who has in mind the things of God, loving Him and honoring Him, shall have a gift accepted by God.
This is why millions of children endure unspeakable suffering on a daily basis. God doesn't give a shit about them because they can't afford the protection money.
He does. That is why there are missionaries that go to different places in the world to go help build churches and to help people who are suffering. But I guess if Christian missionaries go out and help the millions of children that means nothing to you and that must really mean to you that God doesn't give a crap.

If he gave a shit, there would be no need for missionaries. And based on the number of them that are murdered every year, he doesn't give a shit about them either...perhaps they forgot to tithe.
A. Again, this is humans going out to help humans. Regardless of whether or not "God touched their hearts", the actual empirically verifiable WORK is being done by people.
B. What about all the christians who do not do any philanthropic work? God "touched their heart" to be self-centered?
C. What about secularist organizations who do philanthropic work? Did "the devil" persuade them to do it?
B. What about all the christians who do not do any philanthropic work? God "touched their heart" to be self-centered?
God can still use those people to do other things not only missionary work. He can encourage people to do things for others that is even around the U.S we live in today
What about secularist organizations who do philanthropic work? Did "the devil" persuade them to do it?
Those were people who claim to be wise but in the end they will be fools because of what they believe so God handed them over to their foolishness and their beliefs. And yes, the devil did part of it as well because the devil's job is for people to not come close to Christ that is why we have so many other religions besides Christianity to confuse people from being a Christian.
First, you are still just inserting a god in there without any substantiation. You need to demonstrate a way that we can verify whether or not your claims are true, that's the whole point of this question. I'm pretty sure I just demonstrated to you that your method is flawed because a) many christians do not do philanthropic or even altruistic work of any kind and b) many secularists do. Your complete non-answer to my third question demonstrates how your argument is flawed.
and now im broke almost homeless, and hardly making it by on what left of friends i have.
tell me how is giving money to a sanctuary of religion going to help me? my church loved me be when they notice my money has gone the love for me started to die.
i did not tell the people i gave the money, that it was me. and its not the act of giving money. its more about giving people money so that they can build your rep up.. keep your money. save it. one day you will have a family and wish that, that half a million that you gave a way; you had back to help your kids get to that collage that they want to get into.
Actually, I don't know that I've ever insulted a church, but my memory sucks so maybe I have. I have insulted the Biblical god many times because I think he's an evil psychopath, but technically that's not a church. Regardless, I think if he were going to get upset it would be from me insulting him directly, not a church. So, god if you're out there and listening I think you're an evil heartless bastard. Come at me bro!
Collect 74 pigs and/or goats, drain the blood from them and then use all of the blood to make 113ft in diameter pentagram on a marble canvass.
Now...what we are doing here is making an attempt to release Lucifer from his icy prison at the bottom of hell.
What you need to do is, take a knife and make 4 inch incisions on the soles of your feet and palms of your hands, this is to show respect to Lord Lucifer.
Now...stand in the center of the pentagram and chant the words...
Miguwa tataous abscorum vexa.
Emrulliem czuryk goram Satan.
Every time you chant this it will weaken the shackles that oppress Lucifer. God will become aware of this and attempt to intervene.
God is omnipresent, which means he is everywhere, so I would assume his presence is there are well.
Quite the contrary. His presence is not where evil souley exist.
Same concept.
The rituals are completely different, they are not the same.
Lucifer isn't stronger than his creator, his was just the highest angel in rank.
uhhh duuhhh. when did I say that he was?
That is why I said I am MOST CERTAIN. I highly doubt that it actually works, would you mind proving it?
Go try it yourself. That's the only way you can actually know, what, with our magically video editing devices of this era, anything is possible to fake.
Quite the contrary. His presence is not where evil souley exist.
I disagree. Do you have any evidence to back up this claim?
The rituals are completely different, they are not the same.
Again, same concept.
uhhh duuhhh. when did I say that he was?
Therefore the chains would most likely remain unbreakable or unlock able to man or Lucifer himself.
Go try it yourself. That's the only way you can actually know, what, with our magically video editing devices of this era, anything is possible to fake.
Not really. There are ways to catch a fake video, so do show me a news story or something to support your argument.
My evidence is your lack of evidence. My evidence is the absence of your evidence. If you have no evidence I can assume these realistic videos do not exist. Now show me some evidence.
It's fun watching people talk about hell, and god, etc. As if they know for a fact the depiction of how things are in hell. "It's icy," "NO IT'S HOT" "The father you go down,"
BLAH BLAH SHIT! how would you know, have you been there?
Ezekiel1:15 speaks of the depiction of aliens, that must be true too? Also, he was describing dantes' inferno, the 9th level in which is farthest from gods warmth.
Ezekiel1:15Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. 16The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 17When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. 18As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. 19And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. 21When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 22And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. 23And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. 24And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. 25And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
honestly Dantes' inferno's depiction makes more sense, either way it's bs.
Ah. So Ezekiel 1:15 and so one is a depiction of an angel craft? Cool. Doesn't help prove any points relevant to this debate though.
honestly Dantes' inferno's depiction makes more sense, either way it's bs.
I disagree, the author just took time to add to Hell. They both are illogical, but I would rather believe in a Hell thats not in the Earth, and possibly in another realm.
Nope. Sounds like an angelic space craft. This just supports the theory that either angels had ships or aliens are the true Gods. Either way they do not help allude to a point relevant to this debate.
It does, you say the existence is rational. Due to the fact you can read it on paper, that same ridiculous concept from Ezekiel is in the bible. The relevance is pointing out the fact that the bible speaks of, "Space craft with angelic creatures lifting animals into the sky."Kind of hard to believe...
The relevance is pointing out the fact that the bible speaks of, "Space craft with angelic creatures lifting animals into the sky.
What does that have to do with the debate title:
How can you test the existence of God?
Kind of hard to believe...
Not really. God exists in all time frames. Thus angels must be present in all time frames. This sounds like a machine of some sort. I am most certain that if 9 levels of angels exist then they can have some technology.
you say the existence is rational. Due to the fact you can read it on paper, that same ridiculous concept from Ezekiel is in the bible.
Show me where I said the existence was rational. I do not remember ever making such a claim. I never even said the bible was true or false. I never stated if God was real or not.
"Show me where I said the existence was rational. I do not remember ever making such a claim. I never even said the bible was true or false. I never stated if God was real or not."
So all of your statements here are just as irrelevant...?
If God is omnipresent then we ought to experience him everywhere. So the test would be to see if God is evident when one clears all thoughts and ideas about reality from one's mind.
Go to a church and point this at the priest as he speaks, also works when sat on a bible. This is the only scientifically accurate way of telling if God is real.
First, you would have to come up with a clear and comprehensible definition of what God is. From there you could gather whether or not empirical evidence would suffice (Can you see him? Measure him?) and, if not, by what other means you could go about testing him. For example, is there a way to make a distinction between natural phenomenon and supernatural? If so, what is it? Then you go out and test it.
throw a rock at the sky if it was back down god is real. you wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil believe
I asked Satan if he would take my soul in order to allow me power to rule over the lands. Nothing has yet to happen. Knowing everything has a balance, and that Satan doesn't exist... god shouldn't either. If Satan truly existed and was depicted like he is through religious bull shit, my soul would be gone. It isn't, or at least i don't think it is. (No sarcasm.)
I thought Jesus died for our sins so we could be forgiven and spend eternity with him and the Father in heaven?
Everyone's soul has been given over to Satan. We are Satan's until God gives a new nature and faith in Himself.
lmfao you haven't changed a bit LOLZORS. You're still a complete twat with an overinflated ego with an unrealistic vision of self importance.
and as for a real argument. I say look at the atom. The fundamental creator of all matter. To me that is Godly. It creates everything and God is the creator. To me there's a link in the chain.
Unless you are ready to say the atom has a consciousness all its own. which would make it even more a god or the god..
because as far as I can tell the atom is life less. However it can make life happen when special conditions are met. It takes the inanimate to make the animate.
What i'm saying is just because you say "we" doesn't mean that the whole world agrees that there is no such thing as an atom. Especially when there is enough information and research conducted in easy to reach places for anyone to look at; which of course says the opposite of what you do.
You initially said that the atom is "The fundamental creator of all matter" which is the point I was disputing. I agree that atoms exist, and I agree that chemical compounds are composed of atoms.
But when I say that atoms aren't fundamental, I am saying this because atoms are composed of smaller bits, protons and neutrons which are yet again composed of quarks, and then there's electrons which are elementary particles in and of themselves.
When I say that we don't know if there exists something we would call fundamental I say this human kind have a long history of declaring that they have found the thing that explains it all but each and every time the end of physics have been proclaimed, they have been proven wrong. So there's a historical reason not to believe that we have reached anything fundamental. There's a quantum mechanical justification for saying that we don't know if about the fundamental nature of reality since quantum mechanics effectively puts a limit on how small a scale we may perceive things. Beyond this limit, there is literally nothing we can do. It's simply impossible for us to know if there is anything more fundamental at play in this sub-perceptional level.
Its really not as hard to do as people think it is.
you dont need tech
you dont need to be a master at sciencey stuff
you dont have to be a major philosopher
you dont hate to time travel
You just kinda have to question it.
Think about it for a sec.
what is "God"?
Where is it?
Why does it not like the human race?
If he was around like a thousand + years ago, why is he not with us now?
what did we do wrong?
If your saying God is everything around us and in everything. then that makes god the chair i sit on. the house i live in and the toilet i shit in. now last i checked hes kinda a purity freak. so i dont think the toilet. but if he is everything then he has to be my poo and myself as well.
So saying the "holy one" is your shit is well not so grate. Since the all powerful being can be reduced down to shit. ill pass on paying to a shit factor. since i make it all the time ^_^.
God hates humans. just look at history. he made us dum and though a few hundreds of generations. we got how to make fire.
Oh Adam was the first man!
My bad i missed that part.
Wait no.
i thought there was a lady before him....?
and who did his sones have kids with? but really think about that. ok fine there names are in there but.... where did they come from??? Adam?? naahhh it would have said it.... right?
we Base our belief off of one book. written by a man. the book even says who wrote it, Moses. sure he had some followers. but so do i on twitter. what makes him so grate and why did he start this?
oh the jews. yeah a slave nation that became kingly. yeah thats how that works. but only through the order of god to murder everyone that had lived in the "holy Land", in the past....thats how they got the land.. i think its ok. since well the Romans and practically everyone did it. right?
if God is so perfect then why is he sooo not? if anything he is a grate story in a book that people toke to be legit... like they will with harry potter.
Um yeah no its called critical thinking. If any one person is able to think all on there own. They would start to see that life is the same with or with out. Unless I'm misunderstanding u
I don't think you can, no matter what level of technology, I don't see how, but I could be wrong, maybe some day we will have the means of technology and gain solid proof one way or another, but as of right now no, God only exist though faith.
No materiel to observe and measure. No rules God cannot break. Operating under its own, inscrutible understandings. Immune to testing unless it wishes to be. And God seems to only allow this under circumstances which are impossible to prove.
You can't and here's why. Not because its impossible because I don't think we even know what our limitations are even when investigating spacetime and the Big Bang itself. The reason why is that no matter what theists will push god just beyond our reach. The evidence of this is already present. First gods were in nature and animals. We found out more about animals and found no gods or supernatural aspects. So then gods were moves up to the clouds and mountains. Well we then discovered things about clouds and climbed those mountains. No gods there. Well then they tell us they're up in space. We gaze up into space and even fly there, no gods. See the trend here? So where we are now (what the mainstream theist belief is) is that god is outside of time and even reality in some cases. They stuck him outside of where we can reach once more.
Which brings me full circle. I don't know what we may be capable of in the future but lets say we probe through time and deconstruct reality and figure out ever bit and bob and check every corner of it and report back no sign of god. Well did we disprove him? No. He gets pushed back into some alternate dimension. Once again just beyond our reach.
Disproving god isn't possible because of the nature of god, it's impossible because of the nature of thiests.
