There are comedians of some sort in every form of society. Past or present comedians are saying things they shouldn't, sometimes in good fun and sometimes to get an important message across. Back in ancient Rome for instance. They held comedic plays where they would essentially speak their minds of the emperor, the only ones able to do so without facing certain extermination. Now in the present. SNL is able to criticize just about anyone and anything without getting in any sort of trouble. They are allowed to point out the flaws in society and quite bluntly, without ever so much as a fine. Side: agree
Very true. Something of truth delivered in a comedic way usually has a bigger effect on people. - For instance; I could point out that I am not religious in part because I do not support the capitalist approach of modern churces, or I could say "I'm too poor to love god." That is sure to make a bigger impact, and it requires the subject to think about what it means. Side: agree
