Nope, we have marches, demonstrations, protests, and even the occasional riot. And we can do all of that(excluding the riots) without the fear of police brutality or governmental intervention. Honestly, I cannot see a reason why anyone would be afraid to stand up to the government. And please don't slander me with any accusations of our government being an overly corrupt, tyranical, selfish overseer. I'd like you to just go over and look at the governments of Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, China, North Korea, Syria, etc. if you have that mindset. When a person finds something they disagree with, they will voice their opinion to their heart's content. even the violent protests that are in very extreme cases required to make change will occur when necessary. That is action in my mind

Yes, they r! If u think about, U here people sit around and complain about Gas prices,The troops still in Iraq,A black president,Taxes, ect. But the point is they can complain tell they r blue in the face! But dont do anything to change it! find some one that complains about the government and ask them one question. "What r u goin to do about it?"

Just wait until the 2010 elections. Then ask us again what we are doing about it ;)

Joe, I think it's up to you, me, and perhaps a few other veteran debaters to put these whippersnappers back in their place. Have you read some of the debate titles that have been cropping up around the site? "IS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO AFRAID TO STAND UP TO THE GOVERNEMENT?" I think they meant ARE the American people TOO afraid to stand up to the GOVERNMENT. "why are students preasured for retarted things" I think they meant Why are students pressured into stupid things?. We need to start a new debate community that is exclusive only to veteran debaters that we have both known for a while, and veteran debaters that we know to be intelligent and thoughtful, rather than young schmucks with nothing better to do. Message me. This needs to be stopped.
