CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.

I don't know if I should leave or stay.
I don't know if I should leave or stay. I have been thinking about it for 3 days and I don't know what to do.
I feel like I am not getting any smarter (at least I think). Only a few people like me and I feel like the whole debate is angry and mad at me and hate me with a raging passion. I am really confused right now because you have confused me with evoultion crap, science, and other false things.
If you would like to say any negative things go ahead and say them because I don't give a crap and if you would like to say anything nice go ahead. But right now I don't know what I should do.
Again???????????????????????????? Seriously! Stop spamming this site with your comment "I don't know if I should leave or stay." How many times have you said that? In the time I have been here, at least twice.
If you want to leave then leave. It is that simple.
I generally have a hard time disliking anyone, but I truly detest you.
Why do you I have such a strong passion for despising you?
You continue to fight logic, even when it's thrown at your face. In fact, you do this so much that I genuinely believe that you might be a troll... a troll so large that we haven't even been able to comprehend it. Maybe you've been trolling us all along.
Anyway, all you do is cause conflict on this site. Isn't that what debating is about? NO! It's not. It's about literally listening to the other person and keeping an open mind.
He's not a troll, he has a belief system that we don't agree with.
He has a right to an opinion, despite our opposition to it.
I do not think he is correct, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to debate here.
If you don't like debates, if all you want to talk about is logic and atheism, then join an atheist group.
A debate website should be open to ANYONE with a view, ESPECIALLY people with views different from ourselves.
So, I'm not really disputing you, I agree that disagreeing with logic is harmful, especially using religious logic which can lead to hate crimes, oppression and violence, but I don't think we should encourage anyone on this website to leave, or tell them their views are less than ours, simply because we feel that way.
Logic, facts and persuasion are powerful tools. Don't make enemies with someone just because you disagree.
A debate website should be open to ANYONE with a view
Exactly! Srom's view is cemented. It will never, in one million years, move. This makes him somewhat of an invalid debater.
We're all just wasting energy disputing him because he'll never change his views. Especially on religion.
I totally agree that different viewpoints should be cherished. Unfortunately, he'll never cherish your viewpoint because he believes that you're going to rot in hell.
While it's rash, it's true. He will never change his viewpoints; what's the point in him debating?
I am not sure how this website works yet. But here is another thing I noticed. You all think that Srom has a starting point of the bible which makes him no good a debating. Well you are half right. He does have a starting point of the bible but that doesnt make him a bad debater. Here is the thing, he read the bible and listened to his parents. You guys followed the text books you were taught in school and listened to your parents. You all have a starting point of mans word. So Srom starts with the bible and you start with Man. By your own logic you do not have the ability to debate either. So you can not say that he can not debate because by your own logic and reasoning you can not debate either.
I do understand what you mean, but I also remember feeling the same way.
That feeling that homosexuality is wrong, even though I personally couldn't care less.
Or me looking down on other Christians because I didn't feel they truly believed the way I did.
I wanted to be a priest once. I was like he was, with close minded views filled with condescension and righteousness.
I wanted to be close to god, and as I researched more and more, I found that I didn't want to be so close to god or religion.
I found that it was filled with ideas that you can't even debate. Things so twisted that it becomes obvious why his opinion is cemented. It's half indoctrination, half faith, combining with the fact that he probably goes to church, or at least most people he meets seem to be Christian, the fact that when he looks outside at nature, he sees what he feels is god's creation.
He believes, but instead of using logic, he uses faith.
It is beautiful in a strange way, but if you want to describe reality, rather than what one wishes or feels is reality, then religion falls short of the true beauty of the universe.
Last night, I felt like I was the bad guy for being atheist. A girl I was debating, I thought she was stupid, but then I realized what she meant by belief.
It's like at that Peter Pan play. "I do believe in fairies I do believe in fairies I do believe in fairies" And you say that, and it feels so cool, like they do exist even though you know they shouldn't. Or that Santa Clause movie, showing belief to be a wonderful thing that let's Santa's sleigh fly.
Indoctrination adds to that magical feeling, making it not just something you consciously do, but it becomes ritual. You no longer call it fairy, but you call it God, creator of all things, the reason for life and the universe, and it's no longer about fun and pretending to believe. It's about getting out of heaven, not going to hell, not questioning things because it makes you feel guilty.
It becomes a...
A RELIGION. It is no longer just fun belief for the heck of it, you are now forced into it, from a very young age, told your entire life that it's correct and
-
And then you meet an atheist.
To meet such an opposing view, someone who says "You're wrong."
What do you do? If raised without religion, you learn the same things, you learn about evolution, the big bang, how electricity works, why the sky is blue, why rainbows exist, all this stuff, but when you have religion, a bunch of supernatural answers, the explanation being "BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO", to hear a deeper, different explanation hurts.
It feels like "Did you insult me? My belief? My God? The fabric of the reality I believe in?" You can't know what was attacked.
The atheist attacks the logic behind your reality, something that has no logic in the first place.
You've never needed logic or intelligence to believe in the creation story. There's no "I wonder why the bee has a stinger" You don't ask that, you simply accept that it does.
If you do ask, you get an answer from science, the enemy.
Can you accept that? It's based in evolution. That contradicts the Bible's creation story.
If the Bible is not 100% true, if it's not real, then it's no longer an accurate historical document, but a piece of work telling you who to hate and how to make sacrifices. Yes, most of the Bible is about making sacrifices, not personal things, but objects like bread and animals. The rules are insane, many end in the death penalty, or something else. The ultimate punishment, if death isn't enough to scare you is HELL. Burning torment.
What sort of reality did God create? Science can't explain hell.
Where does the energy come from? Does it burn wood or oil or is it a nuclear furnace? Where is hell? Does it exist?
Does heaven exist? What is heaven?
Why does a person continue to exist after death anyways? Doesn't that sound like a fantasy to make death less scary?
There are no answers to that stuff in the Bible.
You can pray, but only your own mind will answer back.
It might sound like God. It might sound like authority, but if it was, why are there atheists?
Does God ignore some people? Does he not care?
Or are you The One? Are you the one who will convince the atheists they are wrong?
The one who knows The Truth?
No, you are just a Christian like any other. You are only human.
The Bible is based on ancient mythology. It is not a peaceful, or loving god a Christian worships.
It is an ancient god of war. It is a god of fire and floods.
A god of death.
To atheists here, it is mind poison. Something they were raised with. (Not all of them)
It is something that confounded them, something they trusted until they continued to learn.
You cannot deny something because you don't want it to be true. You need to face facts and learn, no matter how painful.
"Exactly! Srom's view is cemented. It will never, in one million years, move. This makes him somewhat of an invalid debater."
As are nearly everyone who believes in either atheism or Christianity in this site, can you name a single person who has admitted that their beliefs are wrong?
You're dead wrong. I want you to write "I was wrong, someone has gone from being Christian to being atheist. A change of mind and heart is possible."
-
If you cannot write that, if you can't admit that a Christian, not for anger, not hate, not mock, not contempt, but because of finding information and using logic became an atheist, then I don't think you care about truth.
Is God more powerful than truth?
Or can truth trump God?
Can the truth about all of this beat down your god?
-
I did the research, I know the arguments, I use them and I win debates, or at least force Christians to bow down to their last, final argument, "I believe because I believe." What do you believe, exactly? If my argument is "The Bible is made of Pagan myths", do you still believe it? Do you cling to it because you can't handle anything but believing in it? Do you defy truth because you want to be right?
I was not born smart, but I have learned things, and if truth can trump God, then that is the truth.
If I learned more than you have, if I studied religion and science and philosophy and culture this intensely, then why do you fight so hard against me using nonfactual information and bad logic? Learn from people who are wiser than you. I'm not saying I'm wiser, don't believe anything I say or anything anyone says because they are smart or wise or an authority.
Believe it because it is true. Do the research. Find out the origins of the Bible. Don't say "Moses wrote the Old Testament".
Don't tell me Jesus had powers beyond reality.
Look it up and find out for yourself. Did these people actually speak to God, or did they make it up due to drug use or delusion?
Did a person make it up so that other people would believe certain rules?
-
I find it humorous that you mock or look down on rich evangelists, yet you preach and believe the same.
I find it funny that you attempt to speak in tongues. Isn't that what demon possession causes one to do?
I find it sad that you hate gay people and people of other cultures.
I find it sad that you don't research things, and instead you rely on ancient books for your morals and worldview.
I find it sad that so many people don't realize they are believing a horrible lie. A lie that hurts people and damages society.
Galileo, Darwin, Copernicus, all these intelligent people who try to learn about the world, not by making things up, but by looking at it. You imprisoned them, threatened them, isolated them.
Your religion could not handle truth. Your religion was never good at handling truth, was it?
-
Is there something beyond reality?
Who cares? I can't see it and it doesn't effect me.
If I'm wrong, and your god made a hell, then I wish to go there.
If there is a hell, then send me there. My avatar is proof of that. I do not want to go to heaven. I would rather suffer than bow to tyranny.
Do you bow to tyranny?
Do you eat the flesh of a man? Do you drink his blood?
Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Anglican, Mormon, I don't care.
Learn the roots of your religion, then tell me it's true.
-
Learn ALL the truth. Don't tell me the world is 6000 years old.
Don't tell me that Genesis happened. Don't tell me snakes talk, people turn to salt and people can come back from the dead.
Prove that happened, record it on tape, take a photo, give me REAL evidence.
Why doesn't that happen now? You think a natural disaster is God's wrath?
Innocent children die too, in those disasters.
If your god exists, then damn him.
If not, then it is as I say. There is no evidence, there is no reason to believe.
If you want the truth, then find the truth. Think.
I know exactly what you mean. The constant comments of his are so stupid, makes one wonder if he is actually a troll or if he really is that stupid. And I have never in my life met someone that stupid, face to face.
Ok you hate me. That is fine but I will still continue to be nice to you even tho you hate me.
You continue to fight logic, even when it's thrown at your face. In fact, you do this so much that I genuinely believe that you might be a troll... a troll so large that we haven't even been able to comprehend it. Maybe you've been trolling us all along.
I ain't trolling. This is my main account so I wouldn't be trolling and most of the time I am serious.
Anyway, all you do is cause conflict on this site. Isn't that what debating is about? NO! It's not. It's about literally listening to the other person and keeping an open mind.
I do listen to the other people when they are debating. I read their arguements before I click the dispute button or support or whatever to make an arguement.
... more proof of your multiple accounts.. you just can't help yourself can you? Are you going to delete this debate like all your other debates when you don't like the way things are going?
I will still continue to be nice to you even tho you hate me.
That's very nice of you. I, unfortunately, acted rashly.
I do listen to the other people when they are debating.
This, unfortunately, is not true. It just simply isn't.
my parents set a good example for me when I was really young and they cared about me and showed their love of Christ in them to me.
You said that in another debate. I've come at you with this before.... Your religion is almost entirely based on your upbringing, and nothing else. This could not be truer for you.
Because your parents are Christians, you're a Christian. It's a simple process that's been documented, time and time again.
And yet you continue to genuinely believe that you're a Christian because god found you.
You (Srom) were raised Christian. I don't understand how you can be so sure it's right, when you also know you were raised that way.
Do you know why Muslims believe strongly in their religion, even though you think it's wrong?
They were raised EXACTLY like you, except instead of Christianity, they were raised Muslim.
You can understand why it's difficult to debate you, right?
We say something that makes logical sense, and you say "No, it's wrong because I believe"
Yet, a Muslim would say the same about you. Or a Hindu. You say the same about evolution or homosexuality, you think Wiccanism is wrong, that Greek myths are just myths. Why do you say all these things are wrong?
You can see you were RAISED a certain way. Why do you continue to believe it, even though there is logic against it?
Don't believe stuff just because you were told about it. Learn for yourself, and think.
If humans are cursed by the tree of knowledge, then it's too late to keep acting dumb.
If you believe in that story, then accept that you're human and prone to doing things can might not always be the best decision, and realize that because you can make decisions, that you can also use your brain.
Plus the bible has been proven over and over again my non-christian historians and scientist to be a 100% trustworthy source of history written by completely trustworthy people. They can not prove otherwise. For you that do not believe in God. I will go with you on this I will assume there is no God. We were made by random chance. Meaning our brains were made by random molocules. So our thoughts have no organization. By your beliefs you guys literally have no idea what you are talking about because your theories show that ultimatly you do not know what you are talking about. But if we were created by God then we can put thoughts together with complete organization. Think about that.
@Hellno, actually this is not him. You can look at the account and see how long it has been active and how few times I have written anything. If srom was to use another account to do this wouldn't you think he would have a lot more comments by now?
I am not sure how this website works yet. But here is another thing I noticed. You all think that Srom has a starting point of the bible which makes him no good a debating. Well you are half right. He does have a starting point of the bible but that doesnt make him a bad debater. Here is the thing, he read the bible and listened to his parents. You guys followed the text books you were taught in school and listened to your parents. You all have a starting point of mans word. So Srom starts with the bible and you start with Man. By your own logic you do not have the ability to debate either. So you can not say that he can not debate because by your own logic and reasoning you can not debate either.
No, textbook's are the typed words of man, but with science, it's based on observation.
I can drop, and I HAVE. I TESTED GRAVITY.
I have dropped an object several times, to be SURE. 100% sure that gravity consistently existed, and behaved as predicted by the theory of gravity I read in a textbook.
Next, I thought "God, are you there?"
I said out loud "God, are you there?"
I shouted, "GOD, DO YOU EXIST?"
-
-
-
And there was no answer.
-
Now, if me calling out to god was my only solution, the Christians here would be upset I did so little.
My atheism is not built on top of only the lack of an answer. It is built on the fact that there are multiple religions, religions that Christians feel are wrong, the fact that prayer doesn't work, there was even a study on it. People who were prayed for actually had more complications. The fact that most Christians seem dumb an uninterested in the world. I mean, scientists like Carl Sagan continuously tell us how amazing the universe is, how beautiful everything is, how every person is part of the universe, yet, if a Christian ever has an interest in philosophy, the most he can say are things from the Bible. There is nothing original, nothing new, nothing interesting or anything that makes you think. There are apples that curse you, two humans ate one in a story, so ALL humans are born evil, with a desire for sin. That is horrifyingly depressing.
With my science though, I don't need philosophy based on religion. I can use logic. I start with nihilism, and work my way up. I discover my own purpose. I choose it. I have chosen to make the world a better, happier place using science.
It has been done before, hasn't it? Computers, farming techniques, energy and electricity, lights, speakers to play music, lasers for my cats, matches, sunglasses, everything that we use today is because of science and technology.
If you feel technology is evil, or as I do, that it can be used for evil, then don't make technology. Don't invent nuclear bombs. Don't use them if they do exist. Choose to be better.
Science works better than religion because unlike religion, science is testable and falsifiable.
Christians, the worst sort of Christian will say something like "Science changes so much, wasn't Einstein's theory almost totally destroyed when they thought neutrinos went faster than light? Just look at how easily a theory is destroyed! It's worthless xD"
But if you think a bit deeper, WHY would Einstein's theory be destroyed?
It would be because we would have needed BETTER theory.
A theory ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS works.
The second it doesn't work, it's thrown out. GONE.
I'm not joking, if a scientific theory is made, it's expected to work in reality. If reality shows that the theory is wrong, then it's gone.
If you don't trust theory, then TEST IT.
You can always test theory, because a scientific theory works.
It's not like "I have a theory about this lol"
A scientific theory works. That's why it's better than a religious book.
You can't test religion. The very fact that it's a SIN to test your god shows that.
If you believe in a Bible that you aren't allowed to test, that's filled with contradictions and insane rules and impossible stories that defy reality, yet theories DON'T defy reality, then which do you trust?
When you have only one life, do you spend it believing in stuff that can't be proven?
Or do you spend it discovering new things and experiencing life, using tools that can help you understand?
Science, art, philosophy, mathematics. All that can help a person grow to be better. Courage and friendship.
Choosing how you live is important. Don't let anyone else tell you what to do though.
Don't believe me, if you think my words are clever. Find the truth.
Out of all of that you said there was one thing that Caught my eye. I believe it destroys all of what you said. Observational Science? Most of what you and others say you believe is not at all observsational science. No one but God was there when the earth was created. No human being can observe anything unless we make a time machine to see what Happen. The bible was Written by man inspired by God. Textbooks are written by man inspired by Man. So yes it is the same thing. But if you think that you can not believe in it because you can not see, feel, hear, smell, or taste it then we have a small problem. Here are a few examples why. Is there such a thing as heat?
You would say: Yes.
Is there such a thing as cold?
Again you would say: Yes
But No,There isn’t.
You can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, just the absence of it.
What about darkness, Is there such a thing as darkness?
You would Say: Yes
But again no there isn't. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
My point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
You are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.
Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now I would assume that if you teach you would teach that we evolved from monkeys, or the "natural evolutionary process".
You would say: Yes
Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, Are you not a scientist but a preacher?
Is there anyone in here who has ever seen Mackindale's brain?
Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Mackindale's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one Has. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain. With all due respect, Mackindale how do we then trust your lectures/ beliefs?
We would have to take it all on faith. Everyone in here has faith, but some like yourself seem to seperate faith in God from your own. Now I personaly have heard God. But many have not and they just have full faith in God without using their 5 senses. Sorry about answering for you I had to do it to give my example.
And my philosophy is: Before I assume something exists, I need more than just a clever concept. I need actual proof, especially regarding something as important as an ultimate being of ultimate power. Furthermore, I need EVEN MORE proof to prove that it is not just any god, but YOUR god of the Bible.
Well 1. you can not use Wiki, it is completely unrelaible. 2. you have been given proof but you seem to just ignore it and you do not see it as proof. The "proof" of evolution is very wrong in the deffintion itself. Darwins own theories Destroy themselves if you read everything he said. I can give many example of how they got millions of years and how little science they actually used to get the numbers they have. If Darwin were still alive he would tell you and everyone else he was wrong in his theories and we should believe what he at one time knew. God created the earth in 6 days around 6000 years ago. Here is a bit of proof that you will likely ignore but I will put it up anyway. Where do we get a day? The sun riseing and setting. Where to we get months? The moon. Where do we get years? The Sun distance and so on from the earth. Where do we get weeks? Anyone? God started things that way. There is no natural way to explain where a week comes from. It just has always been that way. Why? Because God created it that way.
You're putting too much faith in science. Just because you decide not to invent nuclear bombs doesn't mean that no one else will. Once knowledge is out there, it's out there for anyone to use it, for good or for bad. Also, science can be used as an argument for doing evil just as religion can. Hitler used the logic of science to "prove" that the German race was superior to other races and to justify exterminating the other races. Governments can control what research is done, what gets reported etc.. Corporations can preferentially publish reports that show their product to be more beneficial, and other products to be harmful. In the end, it isn't religion or science that has the capacity to do wrong, it's people that have that capacity, and religion and science are just tools to do that.
Eugenics is what Hitler used. That is not what I mean by science. "Superior" is not a scientific word.
"Bigger" works. Bigger means something that we know means something. It is larger, or more. It is (Original Object +1*) It is bigger than previous versions. "Superior" is an opinion.
Opinions are not science.
Science is what is. Knowledge of what is, is based on evidence.
I think, therefor I am.
That is something that I must accept.
I must also accept that I have senses. Do they work perfectly? No, but I can still rely on them often and in daily life. Memory is not perfect, but I can adapt for that, can't I? I can recheck things based on the evidence. I can do it again and again.
As I said above, I tested the law of gravity, not once, but several times, dropping an object with mass, while standing on earth, and it performed exactly as expected. The theory held. I also tested "An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.", by not just dropping, but throwing it slightly forward.
It performed as expected. The theory worked.
But with a god, how can I see if that is real? I cannot assume it is real.
I cannot assume anything. I need to test it first.
-
I thought, how can I test religion and god?
I thought of calling out for him, I thought of burning a Bible and seeing if I was struck my lightning, I thought of trying out magical rituals, to see if they would work, or if God would smite me, I thought of praying, and seeing if it worked, I thought of speaking in tongues, I thought of killing myself and seeing if ....?
I realized it was pointless. If an all powerful God had no effect on reality or my life and did nothing to influence reality, then what power does he have?
Some people might say "He's shown himself to me! I know he must exist. I've felt him."
Why have I not felt him? Why do atheists not believe? Why does your Bible say atheists go to hell?
A being with such power, who is constantly in the shadows, hiding yet filled with immense power is "I'm not touching you" on an insane scale.
Why?
-
Science is based on observation.
Technology is not science.
Technology can be explained with science, however.
Human use of technology is not science.
Why and how humans use technology can be explained with science.
-
Science is knowledge.
It is not philosophy, it is not art, it is not math, yet it is supported by all three, isn't it?
Science is knowledge based on observed evidence. Not hypothetical evidence, but real evidence.
Black holes were predicted to exist mathematically, but you could not say "Black holes exist" without at least some real, physical evidence. We have gotten that evidence now, and we can now say that they exist.
Same with God. We cannot say "God exists".
Even if you think after death you will know for sure, to say it now, in this life would be a lie or delusion.
There is no way to know, and because believing in the god Yahweh means believing in the rules of the Bible, rules that I find violent, oppressive and unfair, I consider religion a force of evil, or harm against all of mankind.
-
And yes, science is often misused, but that is up to humans. For a scientist like me, or Feynman or Sagan, we will try to use science to help people.
We will develop medicines, technology to make life easier and more enjoyable, we will find out interesting things about the universe, we will teach people and we will try to preserve the Earth so that future generations can enjoy it.
Religion?
I will only tell you to read the book of Revelations if you want to know what religious people think about the future.
In the end, it isn't religion or science that has the capacity to do wrong, it's people that have that capacity, and religion and science are just tools to do that.
Like Dr. Farnsworth from Futurama said: "Amy, technology isn't intrinsically good or evil. It's how it's used. Like the Death Ray."
Srom, I don't know what set you off, but I would like to share the following remarks.
1. Don't be a quitter (I don't need to say more on this one).
2. If you feel you arguments are strong, but need some support, try getting your priest/pastor to join and support the christian arguments you are making.
3. Debating is arguing. Some people argue more than others. Some people take it personally. Don't get sucked in. Argue your points and stay strong. Agree to disagree if need be.
4. If you leave, you will leave a void and none of us want that!
Don't use bad information, use true information. Don't agree with something because you want it to be right, agree because it IS right.
I do use true information. Some of you guys just don't agree on it. That's what I hate. Especially when I talk about Christianity.
Then use that information in your debates to WIN.
What do you think I have have been doing ever since I joined? I have never won a debate on here ever. I probably have the lowest losing record of all time right now and its still going on. I can never win someone in a debate its always them.
Mackindale. You convinced me. I am not going to leave. I am going to stay. I see how a lot of people love me on this site and I understand that you do to. And you enjoy debating with me.
Watch the video I linked below for some nice info.
Even though it has "atheism" in the name, it really is just philosophy.
I thought it explained a lot of stuff that even I didn't know until I watched it.
Philosophy is very interesting, I think.
Oh, and remember to KNOW YOUR ENEMY.
This website even says it "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
Trust me, I've seen atheists get beaten down by Christians. Sometimes they convert, sometimes they don't. In the end, religion is about faith, but that doesn't mean you can't have a rock solid, logical argument for what you believe.
If you want to know the secret to debating... I mean, this isn't something I should tell you, the enemy, but this is excellent advice in life.
Know your enemy better than yourself. Understand exactly how you become atheist, the psychology behind why a person is atheist or agnostic, know the terms, the philosophy, the science.
Don't use Christian creation websites to understand evolution or you'll lose another debate against someone better informed.
Learn evolution, which is a theory that makes God' creation impossible. You don't have to believe it, but you should still understand it from a scientific point of view.
You should learn about physics, about the current laws of nature that have never been broken. You want to know why they can't be broken? The second you break a law, you rewrite it so you don't break it again.
That's how science works. It describes the universe, and if you understand the universe, not just what Christians believe, but what atheists believe too, then you can destroy them in debates. Knowledge is the key here. Long paragraphs is something I do, but you can still win using short, concise and informed arguments as well.
No one is born smart, but that's exactly why you learn and understand things.
Seriously, I want you to WIN. If you can beat me in an argument, then what?
What do you think happens when you start beating someone in an argument who says, "I rely on evidence, not faith."
You can't convince that person with how strong your faith is, but if your evidence is strong... He's a goner.
Well you're being quite suborn with the " evolution crap, science and other crap things." Of course people are going to complain, you obviously feel strongly about your views, as do other people about theirs. This is the whole point of a debating site. If you don't like it, then sure go.
I agree with Mackindale (forgive me if I spell your name wrong).
You shouldn't leave, Srom. You're bound to get opposistion of your beliefs on a debate site, so don't leave just because your arguments aren't being considered correct. One of the many reasons for debate is for both sides of an issue to clash. Oh, and if you leave, I won't be able to debate you. :/
