I am sure that most of us can imagine why you may desire such a feature. Regardless, I do not believe it is a good idea.

We will be happy to "deactivate" an account, but we don't delete accounts. There are a few challenges in doing so. If we delete all of the persons content (arguments, debates, votes) it would cause much fallout...what happens to the arguments people wrote supporting or disputing an argument? What happens to the arguments people wrote for their debates? What happens to their votes? You can't just erase the past...it just won't work.

I think you should be able to delete your account or somehow deactivate it.

I think that's a pretty good idea. Good question, people could need to delete them from parents or something. So good idea.

... Why wouldn't one simply just stop using their account if they no longer want to be a part of the site?

I mean, as Andy said, it'd be confusing to suddenly have missing arguments and such with complete deletion. So why not just stop using it. It's simple, and there's no effort in it whatsoever. Unless you have a problem ;)

And to delete your comment. There is no such option .
