There is a problem with this country, it's not just a left problem and it's not just a right problem. It's when people get it so in their heads that their way is the only right way and everyone else is stupid and wrong. These people committing violent acts against people who voted for Trump, these people committing violence against Muslims....they are unequivocally wrong. There is no "maybe, maybe not", when someone goes out and causes physical violence against a person because of a difference....they...are...wrong. This is a chance for Americans to stand together, we have a chance to support a man who many of us don't agree with but who is now President through the voice of the majority. I truly hope he is a better President than he is a man, and I won't lie, I was disappointed in the turn out but if we want America to be better, WE must be better. He is simply a man, but WE are Americans and as such we are America. 2

Agree that this is not a positions based problem. It's a people problem, and people can be violently intolerant of others' views regardless of what views they themselves hold. And sure, it's an opportunity for people to come together, but I don't think there's really much of a chance of that happening. Especially given that Trump didn't actually win the popular vote. I'm not making an argument that he didn't win (he obviously did), but it's something for people to cling to in defense of their hypocritical refusal to accept Trump as the next president. 1

Rather than a simple coincidence, it seems to be a direct relation. Though I wonder what he expects an ideal debate to be, which he is always trying to follow. Abridged from him, "Be genuine and it doesn't matter how terrible your arguments are." So, apparently, it follows directly that vulgarity and insults are an integral part. He probably thinks that he has made an almost impossible challenge for the debaters by saying that. But, the question is, is there any topic to this debate? Have you noticed under Obama, we never hear about or see these brutal people being caught and held accountable for their actions, and thereby being a deterent to future violence. Why do you suppose that is? This extremist Democrat party is so afraid of offending their voting block of Black people, they never make an example of what will happen to these racist assaults involving Black on White crime. When its the other way around, Democrats are right their fanning the flames of racism if a white cop kills a Black criminal. It's front page news for weeks causing riots in the streets. This Black racism and brutality against whites and Trump voters will be buried the next day. Democrats are truly dividing this nation all to get elected. To them, everything revolves around politics rather than the safety of Americans. I'M SO GLAD THEY LOST THIS ELECTION! They are acting like traitors to the good of this nation. The real danger here is that such unprovoked acts of physical aggression can escalate into a tit for tat mini civil war. If and when weapons are introduced into the equation then nasty incidents like this one can, and will turn into a nightmare of carnage. In this context it is vital that the demonstrations against the result of a democratic election and isolated assaults on individuals because of their political beliefs are nipped in the bud. If the anarchists and professional political agitators are left to continue with their ''RECREATIONAL RIOTING' and physical assaults unchecked then America will turn into a bloodbath. 1

If people have clearly conveyed that you can beat someone if you have the power of numbers due to their political inclination, then I guess the issue is resolved enough. They've taken away their right to complain if they are punished. If you're speaking on absolute terms (which I doubt), then it can escalate soon. To a war, probably. But Trump has already demonstrated that he can win even when hated. It is now they who have to rise to equal grounds, or be smashed without any injustice. |
