I'm very pleased at what I've seen from Trump so far. He is a non stop work horse!

It's amazing the energy level of Trump. I believe to take on all the problems of America realy does take a type A personality.

Believe it or not, the other thing good about him is his ego, rather than a thirst of getting rich from the office.

I person with a strong ego would want to make America great once more, and go down in history as the greatest president of all time. That will be his goal and to acheive this takes hard hard work.

By his appointments, I am having more confidence that he truly is no longer a Democrat and has seen how badly these extreme Democrats have hurt this nation.

Correct. We elect our president a couple months in advance.

Time will tell. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Because hey, that's what we're supposed to do in a democracy. We had the election, we have a result, now we all try to move forward together. There's a lesson there you know.

A democracy ? A democracy is a type of government where the creation, evolution and proposal of laws are made through the engagement of all eligible citizens. There are several types of democratic systems, such as direct and semi-direct, representative, parliamentary, presidential, constitutional and hybrid democracies.

Barack Obama must have missed this !

100% agreed. Trump hasn't been president for long and he's already done great things!

Never have I ever met an egoist who did anything that was beneficial to anyone but themselves.

Maybe so, but you know what? To bring praise upon himself (even if it is purely self centered), means our nation must be doing well, or he will have zero legacy as Obama will have.

1 point

Your nation is not doing well, it hasn't for a long time. Trump's arrogance is not a sign that it will get better, in my opinion

You have to have a large ego to want to be leader of the free world, regardless of what side of the political aisle you reside on.

You dont have to, many have but there are leaders who areambitious rather than egoistic

How many egoists have you actually met? We're not exactly a common occurrence, and I don't think Trump even is one. An egotist, perhaps, but that's not the same at all. :P

1 point

Fair point, I have no idea how many egoists I've met, or if I've met any at all.

But if I were to judge egoism by these personality traits:

Arrogance

pride

overdone-confidence

Bragging

Self centeredness and self-loving (not words, I know)

Insulting behavior

Materialistic

I think I've met a few. Hahaha!

Congraulations, you won.

How many company executives did the Clinton's surround themselves with to amass the fortune they have.

Wow. You are setting the bar just about as low as possible. This is the problem with delusion and political parties. You have bought into the idea that you have to defend your political party no matter what. Now you are desperate to make sure that no one gets the idea that your party has screwed up. He picked his team. Picking your team is not success.

I'm setting my bar very very high.

Maybe you missed it, but most all of our greatest sports figures, have big egos. This is what drives them to be the best. They want everyone to look at their achievments in sports and sing their praises.

There is nothing wrong with some ego because it truly does spur the athelete's best effort.

It also brings out the best in our occupations. Most of us try to impress the Boss by being the best we can be. This is another form of ego. It gets us our goals in life.

We have too many politicians whose goals are not making America a better place, and receiving the praises from the electorate, but rather pushing their ideology and getting people of like mind elected.

I believe Trump wants to succede for himself and the nation.

As a job, an athlete or a sports figure, isn't exactly comparable to President of the United States...

I believe Trump wants to succede for himself and the nation.

Maybe, but nothing he's done thus far is indicative of that all. If you think differently, you're just turning a blind eye at this point.

Yes, for the other party.

I made no mention of egos. You can't just change the subject and pretend you responded to what I said.

You are saying that Trump is a success because he picked his team of advisors. You say that Obama is a failure because he didn't grow the economy enough and he grew the debt. Do you see the massive disparity there?

I agree that there's nothing inherently wrong with pursuing your self interest, and I don't regard that as being mutually exclusive to benefiting others. I'm genuinely curious, though: why do you believe that Trump wants to succeed for himself and the nation?

Trump has done a great deal already! He shot down Chris Christie from havng a big part in his administration because of the bridgegate scandal!

Can you grasp how important that is? With that one decision, he sent a message to every politician that corruption will not be a part of his administration.

Unike Obama who paid back Hillary by giving her the secretary of state position for pay back for her support, Trump refused to pick Christie because of his corruption.

THAT'S HUGE and is the total opposite of how this extreme above the law Democrat party has been running the show.

Obama has fired very few people involved in scandals.

non stop work horse ?ha !how many pussies has he grabbed since winning the election ?

I don't think Trump, at heart, is either a republican or a democrat. He ran as a reformed party candidate...was it '99?. I think he wears whatever suit will best fit his plans. He would have been a democrat only for the political affiliations best suited to his business interests and I think the same holds true now. He clearly leans toward Republican values of personal responsibility and it's better to have a leader, ungodly though he may be, who has actually earned his way by working and producing rather than sucking the blood out of the economy through tax extortion to give handouts to as many people as possible to buy their votes, and line their own pockets with as much money as they use to buy votes with.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. His negotiation with companies to stay put; ticking China off; bringing in people with real-world experience who are practicioners, not academics; commenting on expensive military programs and that they need to be renegotiated; trade deals needing to be reworked, and basically putting everyone on notice that a new sheriff is in town and business as usual will not stand. It seems that we finally have someone who understands costs and will be a good steward of our resources.
