I'm worried about this Conficker worm...

This is a little late, since it may launch tomorrow, but I'm genuinely worried about my other computer.  It'd already a mess and it might have the worm...  I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm turning off all of my computers tomorrow just in case. If that even helps. Haha

This is the largest virus we've ever had in history. And nobody knows what it's going to do. My Mac doesn't have it, but I think my other computer might have it. I need to go find out. Apparently, you have it if you can't get on certain websites for antivirus companies.

I just checked Windows.com and typed it in. You can do what it tells you to do (download the malicious spyware removal tool) then scan your system. There is an A, B, C & D version of this worm. It doesn't hurt to check it out...I am.

Yeah, it's a scary thought. Being broadcast all over the news, doesn't that kind of ruin the purpose of the prank in the first place?

I have heard it too, I don't know what major damage it could do to my pc but I am already making all my systems ready. And run a complete scan before turning it off every night.

Well, nothing went wrong with my system. And I thought it was all for real. What a way to come up with a good April Fool's hoax. But am glad it was just some stupid joke over the net.

I have no idea what it is but it does not sound good. Conficker sounds bad and worm makes it sound even worse.

It won't do anything bad, I mean to your computer. Besides, if it does affect your computer you can just purge it with a good old fashioned reinstall.

I'm hoping that it's just some d-bag that is just trying to mess with everyone but won't actually do something malicious. The chances of that are low, though. Either way, I have a macbook, and my PC (for some reason) doesn't really take many hits. That said, I'm unplugging my PC from the intarwebs right now.

Just a good opportunity to restore your computer! Everyone needs a good, clean, factory-new computer once in a while.

Only 1 problem for me and that is music. I have had my comp crash before with thousands of songs on it. That would be the only thing I would worry about, on the subject of a factory reset.
