I no longer call myself a Christian. I now call myself a Messianic Jew.

My reasons will be in the first comment.

When I was young my mother told me that there are two types of people in the world, "there are leaders and there are followers". I guess you made your choice.

Ask yourself some questions, what kind of being, supernatural entity would want a following, and if so what's the motive, what type of entity would create for the purpose of wanting to be worshiped, why even bother creating anything at all.

The answer to those questions are simple, no supernatural entity would even bother, makes no logical sense, only our petty human emotions require envy and worship, anyone or anything that requires worshiping and following reason and logic will only dictate that it is man made and you are being fooled to follow another human being ego.

I truly don't know if god exist but what I do know if every single religion on earth is man made and full lies made by man for other men to follow for there own selfish reason, it's human nature to want to be followed, and it's also our human nature to want to lead. think about that before you call yourself anything.

This is pretty good wording.

The answer is just that simple. Gods are invented.

Judaism is invented, Islam is invented, Hinduism is invented.

Otherwise, it'd all be the same god.

Otherwise, there would be proof.

Made so typos in my statement but I am glad I got the point across, I sometimes wonder why we as humans feel the need to want to be followed, maybe it has something to do with survival of the fittest being deeply rooted in our DNA, in the animal world the Alfa males get to spread there off spring but what happens when there are to many Alfa males, well two things really, one we fight each other for supremacy and when fighting gets us no where we have to create the next best thing, what better way to become the Alfa male's Alfa then to have a direct connection with God, or at least lie about it.

I am happy though. I love Jesus. :)

You've never met the guy.

You can only imagine what he'd be like, which to your imagination can be a nice guy, or to someone else, a vengeful, homophobic madman.

To me, he was an insane guy who thought he was a god.

Out of interest why did you decide to go this route with your beliefs I quickly googled Messianic Judaism and it seems a bit complicated, no-one seems to know if its predominantly Christian or Jewish I got the impression it all depended on the person. I'd never heard of it before and a quick google search seemed to throw up more questions than answers but it kinda makes sense, Jesus was a Jew and the original Apostostlic Christians were Jews and part of becoming a Christian originally was converting to Judaism so I guess its closer to the original roots of Christianity.

My questions are more along the lines of why? And what parts of your religous practices and beliefs change

Messianic Judaism would be jewish and nonjewish believers in the jewish messiah, Yeshua. They keep kosher and they celerate the holidays that God said to celebrate perpetually such as passover. They do not call themselves christians because of anti-semitism in the reformation and the crusades.

I have an announcement to make. I no longer call myself a Christian. I now call myself a Messianic Jew, and here is why. Jesus (Yehoshua) was a Jew right? The Bible says that I am supposed to follow Him, right? Well Jesus called Himself a Jew, so I choose to as well. I always have felt that Christianity was Jewish anyway, so this is not much of a stretch. My beliefs for the most part have not changed, just the label. This feels right to me.

OK..., so now you are a liberal, Messianic Jew. So far no contradiction there ;)

Why did I get a down vote? There is nothing wrong with being a Messianic Jew.
