If someone attacked you and in self defence you killed them, should you be held responsible for murder?

What about second and third degree murder? they are not premeditated but are still considered to be murder.

No. The person who attacked you, was well awarded of the consequences he could get. He could be killed by other people or put in jail or something.

Its the attacker's fault, if he didn't attack the person, he would still be alive.

It would be manslaughter, as you did not premeditate it, and you were acting in self defence in a "crime of passion" way. Circumstances would dictate whether or not it was justifiable to kill the attacker.

Self defense is killing, sure, but it's justifiable. You have the right to defend your life. You have done nothing wrong.

you are defending your life. it is not your fault. when it comes to self defence for your life, their is no "fault".
