If Adam and Eve Repented?

If Adam and Eve would have said, "We are sorry," would they have been forgiven?

God is God of Justice as well as God of Mercy.

They were forgiven, but the consequences of their actions could not be nullified unless their existence was nullified. They separated themselves from God by rebelling against His commandment and the result of separation from God is death. God had mercy on them, He did not give them what they deserved, He took an animal in their place and covered Adam and Eve with the skin of that animal. Adam and Eve witnessed the death they deserved in that animal, and they wore that animal skin as covering. They were sorry for what they did, they knew what they deserved, and they knew as they wore that skin that they were alive only under God's mercy but as good as dead because when they were created living, they now were dying as sinners. God promised He would become the sacrificial animal to pay for their sins so He could be just to forgive them, pardon them completely and He became the Lamb of God, Jesus, when He took on human form for the purpose of paying for man's sins so man could be bought back from what he had earned, the curse of sin and death.

Repenting does not remove consequences of the wrongs. When you admit you are separated from God by your sin and He has the right to leave you permanently in death in Hell because you have gone against Him and broken His law, and you believe He died in your place to save you from Hell, and is risen bodily from the dead so you can be forgiven, and you believe on Him in His resurrection and ask God to save you He will save you and you will have eternal life.....but the consequences of death remain in your body. God promises a new life, eternal life, and a new body fit for heaven like Jesus' resurrected body for all who believe on Him and receive Him personally as their Savior. Be honest with God, talk it over with Him, He wants to reason with you and bring you into agreement with Him so He can pardon you of your sins.

God is someone that would ask you to kill your child to prove your faith and flood the whole world because it is full of sinners.

ahhhhh, boo hoo, are you dying and blaming God for it? God is not being fair with you, boo hoo, boo hoo. What a rotten tyrant He is for not stopping you from dying. Boo hoo.

He loves you so much that He died in your place to save you from Hell so you don't have to die...and you are rejecting Him, accusing Him of being unfair and cruel, rejecting His love and it's your own fault and you are getting what you deserve. You can be forgiven and saved from Hell and have eternal life but I guess you hate God so you won't let Him save you. Enjoy your sinning while you can.

Yes, but they would have still been punished to some extent. Eve would have still been bleeding out her vagina at least. God only forgives believers anyway...

Side: I Think So

Yes, because our God is a forgiving one.. Why wouldn't he show them mercy?

HE was kind of fickle, it seems. Apparently, he allowed a divorce between Adam and Lilith, then created a more subservient wench for him to "live with". Today, divorce is frowned upon by most Christian religions, yet, it seems that "GOD" approved the first one. It's kind of crazy. The woman in KY that is refusing to give same sex marriage licenses is now on her 4th marriage (not surprising). It appears she, herself is a "sinner" who lives in a glass house! Anyone got a rock???

Think about the story and you must conclude that it is God who needs forgiving. He created the Garden of Eden and placed Adam in it. Noting that Adam was wandering around quite happy he sneaked down and stole one of his ribs from which he made Eve. That was the end of Adam's happiness. He then told Eve that she could eat the fruit from any tree in the garden she liked except the apple tree, which he pointed out to her. Imagine telling a woman what she can and cannot eat, is God nuts? Then a snake appeared and started to have a conversation with her. What would you do if a snake confronted you? Then imagine what you would do if it started talking to you. Anyway, she took the snake's advice and ate the apple. Adam didn't question her about her presence or from where she came, but apparently began making mad passionate love. Now that's a straight forward case of ''entrapment'' if ever I saw one. That's all in the Bible, you know the book upon which all witnesses in court swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

I think you have been honest here in stating your personal issue keeping you away from God... you are mad at Him for bringing you into existence and He needs your forgiveness for doing that.

He does not need your forgiveness....you need to forgive Him, and change from being bitter against Him to being thankful for giving you life, no matter how stinking miserable your life might be to make you talk the way you do.

I am pretty sure God was looking forward to inventing Hell from the beginning. I don't think he would accept their apology.

Because forgiving them would have ruined the whole story.
