As so one who used to argue with Christians quite often, honestly it boils down to feeling superior. The same reason Christians come on sites like this to argue with atheists. Does it take away from either of Our arguments? No. Does it take away from our ability to listen to other people arguments? Yes. I think the reason a lot of atheists, though many don't, target Christianity, is because it's the religion they left. It is an easier religion to attack and a lot of lefties blamed it on bad government policy of the past 50 years. And the truth is a lot of atheists do talk about Muslims. Sam Harris for example. Though most of us armchair debaters do this to feel superior to other people, I think a lot of people just want to improve society. What do you think?
