If a baby is created for the sake of science and study is that wrong?

I have a personal conflict with this.

Yes

Absolutely. A baby created by and for science would be identical in every practical way to every other baby ever born. If we ever dare to decide who is and isn't born with inalienable rights, then we start down a dangerous path.

yes it is clearly wrong if a baby is created solely for the purpose of science. a baby is a human- and although they cannot speak and tell you how they feel, they clearly have feelings- not only physical needs but a natural born need to feel love and affection from a mother. and what do they do with the baby after experimentation? if the baby is adopted into a family it is highly unlikely the baby will ever be able to lead a normal life... the mental consequences of knowing that oneself was created solely for science would be tremendous.

I'm speaking of a human that wouldn't be born to "lead a normal life" it's whole life would be an experiment.

You're just saying "clearly" to make it sound like there's one side to this argument. Clearly there are two.

"yes it is clearly wrong if a baby is created solely for the purpose of science. a baby is a human- and although they cannot speak and tell you how they feel, they clearly have feelings- not only physical needs but a natural born need to feel love and affection from a mother."

It may be wrong from your moral standpoint, but what if the research that fetus is involved in goes on to save millions of lives in developing an HIV vaccine, and the only way that could have happened was through stem cell research? Are millions of people worth more than one child when the world is full of orphans needing clean water and enough food?

It seems selfish to me to say that crucial moments in the history of scientific development need to be stopped for the needs of a new child, which do not clearly have feelings, as you have so aptly cited. Have you ever been inside a child's brain to know what they feel?

Personally, I think that a person, ANY PERSON, ought to have the right to choose whether they want to be experimented on. This may be painful, it may be lonely, it may be damaging, a baby can still feel all these things. To put someone through that without their consent is wrong... get someone who has a choice to do it.

You can't properly do experiments when they're older though. Some experiments that scientist want to do need to start at birth. Creating this dilemma.

Of course it ! Life is not to be a project for some type of study.

That is a creature of god you do play with it like that this isnt a game this is a living breathing thing. Would you want to be played with and tampered with for some type of research ask yourself that and the make the decision the should not be a debate that should be a definite nooooo

I wouldn't know anything else so I probably wouldn't know to care. And one study could help us better understand so much about ourselves.

Plus don't use the "we are gods creation" as an argument because it is not a question of religion. And we've already tampered a lot with "gods creation"

I understand why they would want to but putting a infant through that is unbearable any one who does that should be ashamed of there self

It depends on what issue you are worried about. Religiously? Yes. Morally? Depends on what set of morals you are following; go with your instinctual conscience. Ethically? Based on today's ethics, yes, it is ethically wrong. So, based on the laws and regulations that society has set up for itself, it is wrong.

In my opinion, I honestly don't see anything wrong with it, but that's my opinion.

Um no. Once someone is born I beleive they have the right to deside how they live.
