Yes it's a tax. This whole trade war is going to be very hard on the working class. Just research what always happens as a result of a trade war and you'll see that it's never good for the working class. I've felt for many years that something should be done about the trade imbalance and unfair trade practices of the Chinese but of course Trump is doing it all wrong. Instead of carefully measured actions he's throwing bombs. His worshipers love it of course but they're the ones who'll suffer the most for it. It's not going to be good for us. Brace yourself for another round of Republican spiraling inflation. The last big trade war helped bring on WW2. Side: It IS a tax
Trump has this country all lined up for a take down. His trade war will spike inflation just as the tax cuts for the working class expire and at the same time the HUGE PERMANENT tax cuts for the rich begin which means that the working class will then have to Pay The Fat Cats Share Of The Taxes FOREVER, shouldering an even greater share of the tax burden than we did before (which was already much more than we should have been paying) which will shrink our net earnings. At the same time SPIRALING INFLATION will drive up the cost of EVERYTHING. Fuel costs are rising at this very moment. Auto manufacturing jobs are going away, dairy farmers are selling out. Soybean farmers are beside themselves because now they've lost their biggest market. We're all set up for the GREATEST DEPRESSION IN HISTORY. THANKS TRUMP and THANK YOU TRUMP WORSHIPERS FOR MAKING THIS DISASTER HAPPEN. IDIOTS! Side: It IS a tax

Talk about a liar there you have it from a dummy that still knows nothing Side: Trump can do no wrong
Well, a tariff is a tax on imports, and not one the president should have such authority over. When you pay more as a result of a tariff the cost of that tax is transferred to you, in much the same way other taxes not directed at consumers fall on them indirectly. If you don’t like it, remember it when it’s your favorite president taxing your favorite target in your name. Side: It IS a tax

If a Chinese fridge is cheaper, why is Trump making is more expensive?? Because as it stands now, we have a 340 billion dollar trade deficit with China annually. Bush and Obama should have taken care of that, but they left it to Trump to attempt to save us from bankruptcy. We could try doing nothing about it since trade wars don't feel good, but the nation will collapse. In reality, Bush and Obama most likely had no idea what to do. At least now we have a driver at the wheel on trade, rather than autopilote as we nose dive the plane towards the Earth. As for his tarrifs on Europe, Mexico and Canada, I'm not a big fan, and get a bit uneasy, seeing they aren't blatantly cheating and stealing from us like China overtly does. But...if it works, I'll say welp. I don't argue with results simply because the journey wasn't simple. Without a giant coalition of nations, they, the Chinese, have no chance of sustaining a trade war with us for long. Our GDP is double theirs, and they depend on us as customers way more than we depend on them in the grand scheme of things. https://assets.weforum.org/editor/ What I know for certain is we cannot sustain these types of trade deficits to everyone and come out to the good for much longer.
