If one praises words of Jesus they may be taking them out of context WTF?

How can mostly fundies in the U S claim to be followers of Jesus if they do and act in complete and opposite manner to what he preached?
How do they justify this appalling double standard?
It seems fundies have reimagined their god to be a a new “improved” version straight from the Bible Belt
Other  Christian believers in the U S do indeed try to act as Jesus taught fundies are a different breed but quiet sizable
Jesus told his followers to feed the hungry , shelter the weak and help the needy also don’t wage war against each other.  Apparently  he didn’t mean this at all as American Fundies say what he really meant was ....build a wall .....no free medical care on my dime buddy .....tell the poor to get a friggin job .... cut down on welfare ......and build that military up

No doubt one  particular religious specimen on C D will bleat ....FOOL , HYPOCRITE, LIAR......IGNORE........

🤔 Some bible verses praising the noble aspects of the words of Jesus .....If you criticize any acts or deeds of Jesus you’re attacked , you praise him you’re attacked as I have been before for daring to suggest Jesus wanted to feed , shelter , cloth and give healing to those that needed it.

Read you bible guys it’s all there and it’s .....in context 😯

I've been asking the same questions for years. Now we have the epitome of an anti-Christ in the White House and the evangelicals seem to accept anything he does as ….. acceptable. The lying, in profusion, is something they cheer at his "rabble-rousers". His tearing apart of the Constitution, that gave them religious freedom, is great … because they don't like to give OTHERS religious freedom. His son-in-law's "number" is 666 (5th Avenue). Coincidence?? They don't even think about it. If I was a believer it would "give me pause", at least. ;-) He can commit adultery with impunity, steal from charities, support the most evil, godless, cruel dictators on the planet, who have killed thousands of "creations", tear apart families (like HE has the right to take their "first born"). I haven't seen him do one "Jesus-like" thing since (or before) they elected him, but, they worship (or at least follow) him! Hypocrites!

I am NOT a believer, but, I don't object to anyone that does. I think most of the Gospel is common sense, at least that that is related to humanity and compassion. I think Jefferson had it closer to reality.

I have nothing against anyone's religion that doesn't hurt someone or something. These followers of a strange interpretation of the Bible should be ashamed! I'd kind'a like to see Jesus show up and prove ME wrong. Unless the New Testament IS crap, He would HAVE to change these so called, "Christians", drastically!

Let's not forget, there are a LOT of Christians on the "other side" that ARE more Jesus-like!

It's sad when it's hard to argue against what you're pointing out. But please keep in mind those people you talk about are the loud part of Christianity, not the correct part of Christianity. There are more and more people out there who believe in God but don't believe in religion because of those people who are so busy screaming and yelling that they shouldn't have to help others if it means they can't cling to their comfy bubble. It's not their family who needs help so why should they give a damn about anything else, especially if giving a damn means they actually have to DO something about it.

Nonsense. I'm tired of the excuses people like you make for the barbarism caused by your primitive belief systems. Oh, it wasn't REALLY Christianity. These people misunderstood it. Whether they did or they didn't, the fact remains that Christianity was the catalyst.

Do you blame the tool or the person wielding it?

Christianity was a very convenient excuse for some to gain land, money, and power, and what better way to motivate people into forming an army than through religion?

If it wasn't religion as the catalyst it would have been something else so I blame the people who committed the atrocities. Greed isn't just synonymous with God.

Hi Mint , my point is as you know one cannot live up to the benchmark of any of those truly nobler aspects of any religion but every nation seems to reinvent god in their particular image that suits their different world views especially political . Religious Americans who carry a gun will find Bible verses to justify such , it’s an absolute absurdity to suggest Jesus would have carried a gun and I acknowledge many Americans who are religious do indeed think it deeply immoral to so out of religious convictions , I can respect this as its consistent with the teachings .

One cannot claim to be Christian and say “ build a wall “ ,”no Universal healthcare “ , “No welfare “ , “No free shelter “ also nowhere did Jesus teach his followers to make as much money as you possibly can , he taught the complete and opposite lesson to his followers .

I’ve had this debate on another site and it’s trully chilling to witness the true face of Americans fundies wishing cancer , death and devastation on me for daring to suggest that Jesus meant what he said and should be praised for it.

If these fundie lunatics ever made up a government in the U S they would make Isis look like a chorus of dancing girls at an afternoon matinee 💃 💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

How can mostly fundies in the U S claim to be followers of Jesus if they do and act in complete and opposite manner to what he preached?

So zero examples. Awesome.

I gave enough examples of bible verses that prove the veracity of my claims also would Jesus have carried a gun? .....I just bet you’re gonna say yes

How do they justify this appalling double standard?

So more lack of examples. Will you make us guess?

It seems fundies have reimagined their god to be a a new “improved” version straight from the Bible Belt

Example needed.

Other Christian believers in the U S do indeed try to act as Jesus taught fundies are a different breed but quiet sizable

I've never met anyone who acts exactly as Jesus taught. Hence the crucifixion.

Jesus told his followers to feed the hungry , shelter the weak and help the needy

Conservatives well outgive the left when it comes to charity.

also don’t wage war against each other.

The last guy seemed to have an angst against Christians and dropped bombs at will. The guy in power now seems to be very pro Christian and wants out of the Middle East completely. Leftists on this very site condemned him.

Apparently he didn’t mean this at all as American Fundies say what he really meant was ....build a wall

God demands the building of a wall multiple times in the Bible.

....no free medical care on my dime buddy .....tell the poor to get a friggin job .... cut down on welfare ......and build that military up

Jesus didn't help those who wouldn't help themselves. He demanded the lame man try to walk first. Jesus even claimed to have his own personal army.

No doubt one particular religious specimen on C D will bleat ....FOOL , HYPOCRITE, LIAR......IGNORE........

Nonsensical rambling.

Claim proven false on at least six different occasions. Conservatives give more to the church. Liberals give more to charity.

1)Proven false on zero occassions.

2)Most libs are religious, so your point is a laugh.

3)People give to the church to help the poor. Even if they didn't, it proves the right hangs onto less money.

Care to continue?

It’s as I predicted I praise Jesus for his peaceful and kind nature and I’m wrong as the total opposite is true , I call the god of the Old Testament a tyrant and I’m taking the verses “out of context “ I praise Jesus for his noble deeds and again I’m taking the verses out of context no doubt

So more lack of examples. Will you make us guess?

Really , Jesus would have said no Universal health care as an example?

Example needed.

Sure , imagine Jesus back on Earth saying “ get that wall up guys , hey where did I leave my piece ?

I've never met anyone who acts exactly as Jesus taught.

I know , I acknowledged that , they could try though couldn’t they?

Conservatives well outgive the left when it comes to charity.

also don’t wage war against each other.

I’ve also acknowledged that there are a lot of decent American Christians who at least attempt to act as Jesus would

Conflict resolution through dialogue and agreement is always laudable

God demands the building of a wall multiple times in the Bible.

God also tells one how to treat a slave and stone adulterers so do you agree with that? That’s a red herring anyway as I’m talking about Jesus as we well know .

. He demanded the lame man try to walk first. Jesus even claimed to have his own personal army.

So going on that contention what do you think he would have told the sick “ get a job buddy I ain’t paying for your meds “?

Jesus claimed to have his own army , really a fully armed army with Jesus armed as well no doubt , do humour with the Bible verse as I’m unfamiliar with that verse that relates to an army an all that implies

Nonsensical rambling.

If you feel that strongly about it stop doing it maybe?
