The earth rotates at the axis at a costant speed of 1674.4 km/h. So, when the earth suddenly stops, we would be tremendously flying in the direction of the earth's rotation. A good example is a car crash. A car crashing head on into an object will launch any loose objects in or on the car towards the front, propelled by gravity. If the earth would really stop by some reason, most of the people on the ground will die.

The fact that the earth spins at a rate of around 25-30 km per second if it suddenly stopped spinning we would all lose our balace and fall down because we have become accustumed (sp?) to being balanced on a spinning surface so if that surface suddenly stopped spinning like we would collapse.

If the Earth stopped spinning, most of us would kick it.

it is obvious that we would become unbalanced. the seasons won't change anymore. :/ no spring, summer, monsoons, autumn or winter. i mean it would stop to the season we were facing once upon a time :/ n its not really fun not to see any other season coming up again :/ there would surely be a lunar eclipse every time, that would seem like its night which would last for like 2 mins :/ or if we stop in the middle of the night we would never see the sunny sun EVER AGAIN!!! :( no way.... i'd go crazy... thats what sometimes is called unbalanced :P
