If the economy does not improve or the healthcare plan fails will Obama be back in 2012?

While Obama won by a landslide, he's been one of the most moderate presidents we've had for a long time, personally he's charming, and his ideas seem to be extremely solid,

Conservatives have always had a knack for appealing to the lowest common denominator, and sure enough I can't even go on this site, which is supposed to be people who are at least somewhat enlightened, without seeing the socialism bs and all the rest of the fear mongering idiocy.

So I would under normal circumstances say it would be nearly impossible if he doesn't come through on these major issues (which consequently would be nearly impossible for any President ever.)

But, you have to take into consideration the current state of the Republican party. I mean really, who are they gonna get through a primary that actually has a legitimate chance of winning.

Palin, Romney, and Huckabee will never be able to beat Obama in a general election, even if he doesn't get all of these major things accomplished. No amount of Faux spin could have any one of those three even looking half respectable in any kind of debate against him.

Any Republican who was bright enough and sane enough (because 2 of the 3 mentioned above I believe to be certifiably insane) to compete with Obama on a National stage in an election,

cannot in this current state of the Republican party, win a nomination.

So unless something drastic happens with republicans Obama will win in 2012.

Obama is also a person who seems to care more about people than politics. And we need that.

I doubt Palin has a chance. You can't fix stupid. Clinton just has too much executive experience now. I think she's the next logical choice. She's been training for the job for 17 years.

Bobby Jindal was looking promising to the party until he botched a speech. But you never know, they might be able to pull it together. And honestly, I hope they can so that we can keep the houses balanced. I may be a democrat, but I like democracy.

How does being the spouse of a President make you qualified to be president. Biden and Obama have screwed up speeches and they the top two guys in the country. Biden makes fun of Jindal for being Indian and no one cares. Palin is not stupid.

Side: No

The economy will certainly improve and even if Healthcare eludes him in his first term, he'll be back in 2012 to have another go at it. I think Obama is as solid as a rock in very many ways.

Obama is probably one of the best presidents of the United States of America. (My opinion) We had many great presidents and we will have even greater ones to come. Now, the people who want Obama to fail wants America to fail. Think about it, he is the president. If he fails America goes down with him. If the economy dose not improve or the health care plan fails will Obama be back in 2012? Well to me it seems like the economy has stopped free falling. The health care plan seems pretty good. but if it dose fail YES he will be back! I' am aaamichael and i approve this message.

What has Obama done to be the best president of the United States?

He may just be, Tugman.

He really seems to understand what really causes a problem and how to solve it. The only issue is the resistance to radical reform.

If he had the freedom, he'd have the results.

It is now 2015 and I am happy that I voted with the majority to re-elect President Obama.

A huge reason he got elected was because Americans have very short-term memories and they wanted to get away from the republican party because of Bush. If Obama does bad in his first term, there is definitely a chance for him in 2012, but I think it'll be really tough for people to reelect somebody who failed in what he tried to accomplish.

They reelected Bush after his first term, and he did not accomplish what he promised (as many "mission accomplished" banners as he put up.)

So as long as Obama marketed himself correctly, America is dumb enough to do anything. And Obama is great at marketing himself.

Side: yes

I hope not. I mean, after a while you start running out of material. We need a new guy in office in order to get a few new jokes ;)

i could not imagine actually re-electing a president that may increase debt to more than 100% of GDP and having no economic recovery accompanied by jobs growth to show for it. It will be so easy to knock this guy off if that happens. The explanation we will get is that if we didnt spend $787 billion, job losses would have been more- i call it the "crystal ball theory". He's already hedged by saying that. That's awesome that they can set us up for such mediocre results by throwing shit at a wall and seeing if it sticks.
