If you could kick just one state out of the union, which one would it be?
Before I can properly answer that, Hellno2012, I need to know what state you live in!....just kidding. I think I might go with Texas on this one. I think they would probably make a better trading partner than member-state. Plus they are trying, and coming rather close to succeeding, to re-write our history and science textbooks. And I don't know if I will ever forgive them for the Bush regime. 1

Really, its a win-win situation! They want to do it on their own, they are economically strong enough to do it, they would be able to take whatever wacky approach to border protection they want. The rest of the US, meanwhile, can finally get on with living in reality. Though the temptation to "mess with Texas" might be mighty high. :) Alaska. We bought it because of Russia, we don't need them, they cost the nation more than they contribute, and Canada is a stout ally so giving it to them would cost us 0 as far as available military bases. Plus I bet our fish would be cheaper if we imported it from Canada than buy it from Alaska. -6

They're one of the few states that contribute to the nation, TX, CA, ND, NC, FL... blah that's what I know off hand, Point is, most states cost the country more than they contribute. Massachusetts and most of the New England States actually contribute overall to the national cause. My vote is infact Alaska. Cold war's over so we don't need it, and what have they given us since becoming a State? Palin, that's it. Give it to Canada and I bet our fish would be cheaper too. Side: alaska
