Before anyone advances a solution for the gun crisis in America we must first assess the feasibility of the proposed scheme. A blanket banning of guns would be akin to prohibition. Great idea, but totally impractical. At this time a start could be made by introducing much stricter profiling along with positive vetting of all firearm licence applicants. Concurrent with this we could conduct an in depth scrutiny of all existing firearm licence holders and where possible have access to the medical records showing the state of their mental health. Firearm outlets would have to maintain detailed records of all sales which they could only effect to those issued with a government licence, just like a driving licence. If we lived in la la land the answer would be easy, or at least easier, but we do not. Side: Slave
