I agree that immigrants should be able to come to the United States freely. The government should abolish the law that says that immigrants cannot come into the United States I agreed with what the former Mayor of San Antonio said. He said that illegal immigrants should have the right to come to the United States to have a better life. Most of these immigrants come to the United States to get a better life compared to what they had in their native country. Editorial Writer Macarena Hernandez also experienced what immigrants go through. She is a Mexican- American. She said that her family emigrated from Mexico in the 1970’s. I strongly disagree with D.A. King about keeping the law of immigration, and making immigrants come in to the United States and get everything they need to stay here illegally. It is not fair for these immigrants who want to have a better life for themselves and for their families. Most of the time, the immigration process takes many years. I think the government should help these immigrants get all of the things they need to be American citizens. They should not block the entrance to the United Stated. Instead they should give them a warm welcome to a new and better life style. In Arizona the number of immigrants has increased by a big number. A good thing about the United States is that many of the states are helping these immigrants to get all they need to become citizens. Immigration Debate. 2008. DVD. . I think immigrants should be welcomed as long as long as they are not trying to come in illegally. All immigrants should have to earn their citizenship. Yes, becoming a United States citizen is a difficult and long process. If you want to be part of this country, then you should have equal rights and duties as every American. It is not fair that illegal immigrants can just use our schools and hospitals and not even have to pay taxes. If immigrants are coming to the United States and they are doing it legally, then that is perfectly fine. America is made up of immigrants. I completely agree with Lee Terán, a law professor who teaches at Saint Mary’s University, “Illegal Immigration will not stop until employers stop employing them.” Illegal immigrants will continue to come over to the United States as long as they have a job. I believe that employers in America should always employ American citizens. It makes no sense for them to employ illegal immigrants because they are not paying taxes. “The problem with illegal immigrants is not that they are here using our resources. The problem is that they are using our resources without contributing anything.” Yes, they are working like everyone else. The problem is that they are draining the money out of our country. I think that immigrants should be welcomed in the US because this country was founded on immigrants. I do not think that the country should accept illegal immigration though. I agree with Lee Teran from the video, that the laws is what's causing such immigration problems. If the immigration process was easier, then there would not be such a problem with illegal immigration. The actual citizenship process can take up to eight years and can cost a lot of money. Not many illegal immigrants are able to do the entire process. They are helping the country by coming here and working though. The United States should stick with its principles and welcome everyone, and also help them become citizens so they can do what they came here for, which is to work. I also think the immigrants should come to the country willing to assimilate and learn the primary language. Mitt Romney, presidential candidate 2012 said, "I love immigration. I love legal immigrants coming into our country ... My guess is everybody in this room is a descendant of an immigrant or an immigrant himself. So we love immigration as Americans. Immigration brings us education, new cultures, ideas, innovative talent. It's wonderful to have legal immigration. I don't like illegal immigration." Amanda H. "2012 Republican Candidates." First i would like to state that immigrants should not be here illegally. Yet the US government needs to improve the process of immigration. The process itself takes 8-12 months and then they must find a job find a place to live, the ordeal is just to complicated for most. Its just so much easier to take the risk of illegally crossing the border. The government needs to also take the responsibility of all the immigrants. In the early 1900s you would take a boat over and go through Ellis island and the process would only be about a day. Now it more like a year. Now there should punishment for the people who do come here illegally. Im not saying that the illegals should just be legalized but instead of just sending them back to their country, they should be able to become a citizen here in the US. So that the family is not split up and so that people do not have to give up their lives in the US. There is no reason to send immigrants back to their country where they were miserable. Just because they wanted the same opportunities as all of us do. Everyone has the right to be happiness and the government with the help of the people need to make a change to not only the immigration process but the way we treat immigrants all together. 384 days ago | Side: Immigrants should be welcomed.
I firmly believe in immigrant integration within the USA. There a series of benefits and reasons why immigration should most definitely be welcomed. The first reason would an economical one, the USA is not in a particularly viable economic state at the moment, but with new immigration comes new workers and new workers means more money being made for the united states. Once this money is earned it will enter the circulation of currency in this country and boost the American economy. A second reason is skill sets and literacy. A strong work force is usually dependent on literate workers, the more education you have the more money you can make, and literacy is not a strong suite for incoming immigrants in certain parts of the world. Now if you combine all the literacy from ALL immigrants not just Latinos, who seem to be the main topic of immigration, you have a pretty powerful workforce. Hard workers from Mexico, mathematicians from japan, architects from Holland and even engineers from Germany. If we were to exclude these immigrant from a proud country, the vast amount of knowledge that we gain from these people will be lost. America cannot suffer or recover from something like that. I do, however recognize that these immigrants are here illegally. Not all of them but quite a few are and America needs to come up with a solution for these particular individuals. I believe Henry Cisneros said it best, that we need to make a "path way to citizenship" in order for these people to remain here. And that pathway needs to be more streamlined than the system that the American government has in place right now. There is only one other quote which struck me as hard as Mr. Cisneros. It is part of the poem that is on the statue of liberties feet. It reads "Give me your tired, your weak, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". I urge all Americans who want to talk about immigration to think about this. Tyler P. Lazarus, Emma. "Does the Statue of Liberty Stand for Liberty or for Immigration? Law Answers (48949)." Today in America, immigration has become a very touchy topic. We live in a country that would not be where it is now if it weren't for our immigrant ancestors. The simple fact is that we are a country that offers some of the greatest spoils and opportunity in the world, whereas other countries oppress their people with religious and political persecution. Those who enter this country whether it be legally or illegally are in search of one thing; the opportunity at a better life. America needs to swallow its pride and accept the fact that people will come to this country for what each and everyone of us take for granted every single day. They will come today, they will come tomorrow, and they will continue to come for centuries down the road. I feel as though my generation can not argue on illegal immigration in the work force for the simple fact that none of us have experienced its effects. However, I do agree that the illegal immigration in our country should be monitored more effectively. In the video, it was stated numerous times that the employers can significantly decrease the number of illegal immigrants that enter our country by doing their part when hiring. The extent of which some illegal immigrants go to in order to enter this country is enough to show their determination to be someone in the world. We as a country are spending too much time worrying about how to keep immigrants out and not enough time figuring out how to allow people to enter this country legally quicker. I feel like our ancestors is not a good arguement because for one we were sent over to pay debts off. The immigrants now come because they dont like it where they are living and willing choose to skip the imiigration process they are criminals and should be punished. Any immigrant that goes through the complete process legally should be allowed over but all illegals should be punished and booted out of America. 384 days ago | Side: Laws should limit immigration.

Not once in my statement did I support ILLEGAL immigration. Maybe more immigrants would apply for citizenship if it didn't take years and years for them to have it granted to them. Again, I'm on the side immigrants should be welcomed. Not illegal immigrants should be welcomed. Your argument holds no grounds for necessary reasoning so take your opinions and post them on the other side. Thanks. 384 days ago | Side: Immigrants should be welcomed.

I agree with welcoming immigrants in the United States. Macarena Hernandez was explaining her thought and opinion on immigration in the video we watched today. She focused mainly on how deportation affects the family members of those that are immigrants. She also spoke about how the U.S government seems to mainly focus on the border line over the Rio Grande. Me being a Latino, I have friends and family that have been deported back to Mexico and it truly a devastating situation. I believe that the Hispanics that do migrate over to the states come to have a better life for their family and themselves. The Hispanics and Latinos do not come to the United States just to break the law or to live here to hide from the police their whole lives, it’s because the crime and hostility in Mexico is just so bad and because the economy and government is not where it should be. Immigrants that migrate to the United States do not come to harm anyone; they do everything that we Americans do. Because they are a different color and because they do not own a green card is the only difference between we Americans and the immigrants. Immigrant teens that come to the unites states have to struggle with the fact that after high school they are not allowed to go to college to pursue their dream as being a doctor or a teacher because they do not have their papers. And I believe that if they are willing to stay here in the United States and being limited for their freedom, there is a reason why they do not want to go back. I say, let the immigrants be welcomed. “Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.”– Franklin D. I agree with Michael Dyson who was professor at the University of Pennsylvania, that immigration laws should be prohibited and abolished. Illegal migration of immigrants can effect our economy towards a positive aspect than a negative aspect. The positive effects are boosts of gross domestic products. The more workers we have in the United States, the more means we will have of output. Meaning that more people means more consumers spending money on food, rent, and a range of luxuries. Illegal immigrants are taking entry level jobs at lower wages than the average American would accept. This benefits the average U.S. taxpayer while burdening some state and local governments such as other research finds. The primary losers in this country, are workers who do not have high school diplomas. This specific group of people prefers to work with a higher salary than illegal immigrants. This group of people are more likely to bring down Americas economy because they prefer to work for higher pay. Overall, illegal Immigration provides economic gains to a country. Which is why the concept is necessary for having illegal immigrants migrate in the U.S. 384 days ago | Side: Immigrants should be welcomed.

I believe laws should be made to make immigrants welcome to the United States. Immigrants are humans just like anyone else so why should they be stereotyped or punished for wanting a better life? Immigrants should not be forced back to where they came from. There should always be limits and boundaries but not to the point where it cast out a certain race. Immigrants shouldn’t have to wait years just to get accepted in the United States. Without immigrant Americans miss out, immigrant take lower paying jobs to support their families employers get cheaper labor so in the end their both making a profit. Immigrants have been here for year and have raised their families here. Most immigrants have nothing to do to, also in many cases there children were born here which makes them American and it would be cruel to split up families. For many immigrants America is all they know. America is their life and it would wrong to take it away from them. Immigrants have the right to America, they come and work like any other person so they should not be discriminated against. I believe that immigrants should be allowed in the United States. As long as they are paying taxes, then I would not consider them to be illegally here. The reason say this is because the definition of illegal is doing something unlawful. In my mind, If some one is here in the US without a green card but are paying taxes then they are not illegally here. I also agree that the immigrants should work to become citizens though. I liked Henry's idea the best. He suggested a Pathway to citizenship. This kind of system would mean that we would have to get rid of the long process. The immigrants instead of going through the process, could come here start a life. While starting a new life, they could work their way to becoming a citizen. The way they do this is by, finding a job staying out of jail, and contributing to the US economy in other ways not specifyed here. Another way they could work toward citizenship is by getting their own medical insurance just like us. Right now they are stealing our health services away from us. This means that people who are insured and need the medical care can not get it because of the uninsured immigrants. That is why I am for immigration. I agree that immigrants should be able to enter the United States freely. Under the circumstances that they under go a brief background check that indicates who they are and where they are coming from. As Henry Cisneros said, "This country needs the work". Alot of jobs that every day Americans take for granted or just don't want to do, can be done by immigrants that need jobs. The work force needs hard working people that aren't afarid to get their hands dirty for a low income. Immigrants provide a valuable service and help the economy. Also, if immigrants are allowed to live here their children can take advantage of our school system and grow to be educated, productive members of society. Their are many immigrants that would probably work harder then most naturaly born citizens. Cineros says that everyone sould have the chance to be on "the path to be a citizen". That everyone includeing immigrants should earn their way. As Americans we should be more open to immigrants trying to come to the "United" States. Immigrants should have the same equal rights to pursuit happiness. And be a succesful American citizen, and do what they can to not only better themselves, but to better The United States of America. I agree that immigration should be legal, because to build a wall is timely and cost a ton of money. We have granted amnesty to about 3 billion people back in 1986, and now we have at least 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. The cost of amnesty is high, so legalization seems like the best solution. Just like Henry Cisneros said in the debated, sending them back is not right. All they are trying to do is come here and live a better life. Cineros says that everyone should have the chance to be on "the path to be a citizen". I believe that if they are willing to stay here in the United States and being limited for their freedom, there is a reason why they do not want to go back. I believe that laws should limit immigration into America. I feel that illegal immigrants should have no rights in America. Any illegal immigrant that comes to America should not be allowed here even if they have a child. Lee Terran argued that mothers were being taken away from their children, if they had been legal citizens and went about the process the right way they would not be stuck in that particular situation. Many of you would argue well what about the kid now I think that if the kid is truly an issue then they should be allowed to get their child and take them back to wherever they are from. I agree strongly with D.A King about tightening up the border. King said that without borders we can’t be a country. The only thing I agree with on the other side is that yes the process to become a legal immigrant is too long and that something should be done to change that to decrease them temptation of coming over illegally and taking the easy way out. I feel that if it really comes down to it each state should be allowed to control its own immigration laws. In Arizona there has been an argument on this topic, this argument has made it all the way up to the Supreme Court of the United States. After months of fighting “The justices strongly suggested that they are ready to let Arizona enforce the most controversial part of its law, a requirement that police officers check the immigration status of people they suspect are in the country without documents”. I believe that new laws concerning immigration must be created to discourage the steadily increasing number of illegal immigrants arriving in our country. I believe illegal immigrants should have no rights here in America because they have not earned their right to be here by going through the proper processes that many others have. I don’t however mean that we should go around picking up everyone that doesn’t have the right paperwork and ship them off like cargo they are still human beings. I must say I do agree with Lee Terran on the subject of how long this process actually takes. For some the process can take up to 5 to 10 years to earn their citizenship, and that is truly ridiculous. That is why new laws must be made to create a better system of processing immigrants into the United States. I also believe that we need to strengthen our borders not just physically but also in ways that would discourage immigrants from wanting to enter the United States illegally anyway. D.A. King I believe was correct in his proposition of punishing business owners who would hire illegal immigrants. He’s correct because if you can stop the business owners from making jobs for illegal immigrants to exploit their cheap labor then there would be no reason for the immigrants to come to the United States anyways. If we cannot discourage illegal immigration the numbers will continue to climb to exceedingly high levels. Jean Schmidt, a former US representative of Ohio, said that “recent study found that nearly 10 million illegal aliens have arrived since 1990.” These numbers are outrageous and are why we must put a stop to illegal immigration. I believe that the border should be more protected. The immigrants over here already should not have to leave but border security should be tightened. It’s not the Latinos that are to worry about, but the possible terrorist groups that could cross onto our soil. That is the problem that we should be worried about. The reason why the Latinos are involved is that it is located on the Mexican/ American border. The reason why the hijackers of September 11th 2001 were able to perform their attack on the U.S. was because they came through the Mexican border with help of traffickers and smugglers. These are the reasons why border security should be tightened. If these actions don’t take place we could have more threats on our hands. And if that’s the case we will be bringing war to our on home soil. Nobody in the video mentioned anything about terror threats entering the border like the Latinos did. Because not many people know that most terrorist groups are partners with many Mexican drug cartels and traffickers to help with transportation and a pathway into America. The only real similar quote made in the video was by D.A. King. He said that “our borders need more strict protection” If you disagree then you and everyone else could face once again another day like 9/11. I agree with D.A king illegal immigration should be stopped. We should secure the border a lot more than they already are. These illegal immigrants are coming here and taking our jobs not paying taxes and living off our government. There are laws in the United States about illegal immigration that need to be put to affect. Like D.A king said getting the illegals out isn’t going to be an overnight thing though. Immigrants are one of the reasons for some of our countries ills like, poverty, crime and even environmental degradation. These arguments have been going on for years and states like Arizona, Georgia and Indiana. Immigration is one of the big issues in the 2012 presidential campaign. A group called the immigration control foundation was formed in 1983. This foundation has been trying to stop illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. If this really did stop crime rates would go down and there would be more jobs for the citizens of the United States. I am a firm believer that immigration laws in the United States of America should limit the amount of immigration allowed in our Nation, due to the apparent and unapparent effects. Which are effecting both legal citizens of the United States and the Nation. This disaster has plague our Nation for years and will continue for decades if we stand by and do nothing. Reason being is because every day we neglect the impacts of legal and illegal immigration, is another day jobs are lost to hard working men and women who provide for their families. Its another day our government spends millions of tax dollars for free health care, that the mass majority of illegal immigrants don’t pay a cent towards. It’s another day the legislative system is being cheated, and scammed, on every level. Simply because our legislation is not strong enough to prevent the staggering amount of immigrants coming each year. Richard said that the cause of the massive immigration is due to the lack of immigration laws our nation needs. He stated that illegal immigrates coming to America have no rights and I most indefinitely agree with him. Why should we give rights to those who would lie, cheat, steal and break the law, when others had to work to get in the United States? Not only are they cheating themselves they are also showing great disrespect towards us by not following our rules. If not then they are cheating all other immigrants who want to be here but legally because they know that it’s morally right to work for it rather then cheat it and steal for it. Therefore the best way to rid us of this problem is to instill stronger and more strict policies that will make immigration more difficult. But at the same time still allow honest worthy immigrants into our nation and add to its glory. If you disagree with me, then you are agreeing to let in dishonest, liars and cheats to enter our county and not one with good intent for themselves, their families and their nation would ever want that. -DeeCee Curtis- Works Cite: "Why Illegal Immigration Is Bad For America." Why should we give rights to those who would lie, cheat, steal and break the law when others, in the exact same position, decided to work hard to get in the United States? Not only are they dishonoring themselves and their race they are also showing great disrespect towards us by not following our rules. I agree that legal immigration should be welcomed by all; the problem is the illegal immigration. The process to get citizenship is what needs to be improved. Making it more accessible to get citizenship will cut down tremendously on the illegal’s entering the country. I do not agree with the border patrol method to stop the problem. We can’t stop everyone from entering the country, the legislation needs to control the situation. They are here because they can get employed regardless if they are legal or illegal. The government needs strengthened their regulations on who can and can’t be hired, and giving working visas to the ones seeking to return back to Mexico. Richard Languar wants people to come over legally instead of illegally as well. He thinks there should be more communication between the government and the people trying to enter.” The first thing I'd like them to do is to register, so I know how many there are, and what their circumstances are. I believe there should be more caution taken as to who enters our country. "There were about 11.2 million undocumented immigrants living in the US in March 2010." There is something wrong with that, we need to strengthen our borders a significant amount. The one thing people tend to not think about when talking about immigration besides jobs, families, etc. is terrorism. By letting various illegal immigrants in the country it puts us at a much higher risk for another terrorist attack. NAFBPO said, "The idea of public morality seems a quaint concept now, but once upon a time it was important to us." This should be a major concern for most. Laws should also focus on the other topics such as jobs and not just sending the immigrants back to their country. The employers need to be punished as well, because who says the immigrant is not going to just hop the border again and find his way back to that employer? If there is no jobs, there will be no desire to come into the country. Simply enforcing a law can have a domino effect and majorly decrease the numbers of illegal immigrants. Many people say they help the economy by doing jobs we would not do, but many forget that they also do not have to pay tax dollars. Why should they get to live here tax free and us citizens have to pay? That also costs the government a lot of money to have people live for free, they're paying for them to live here basically. I believe immigrants need to find a legal way into the country and if they can not find it, there are plenty of other countries in the world. Jared W. "Why Do We Have Immigration Laws?" Illegal immigration is just blatantly wrong. There should be a certain amount of immigrants that come over every year. The United States is going to be overpopulated if we continue to let immigrants come legally or illegally. America is already overpopulated with enough people that are here legally, why would we allow illegal immigrants to be here also ? If we allow legal immigrants to come to the US we will soon not have enough housing and will have to put more money into the towns & build more houses. If we don't stop this, they will soon overpopulate out country. If immigrants continue to come over soon they will take all of the jobs away from the Americans and leave them without a job. We will have to start coming up with more businesses if we don't limit the amount of immigrants that are allowed to come over each year. If they get caught here illegally there should be a bigger penalty with them coming over without permission. If they have more laws that they have to follow there will be less immigrants coming over. With less immigrants there will no longer be overpopulated cities and more Americans will have jobs. Thats what i think about illegal immigration. 383 days ago | Side: Laws should limit immigration.

I agree with D.A King. There should not be laws that punish illegal immigrants but laws to punish the employers of the illegal immigrants. The laws will not stop people with no identification from coming here but it will stop the ones that have them which are the employers. The employers will not hire them and therefore they will have no reason to be here if they can't earn money to send to their families. They should have to be on the list just like the others. Majority of illegal immigrants are middle age males. Which means that no one over the age of forty or fifty will be coming over here because they are either too old to work or two young to survive the trip over. They have enough time to wait the length of time it take to legally enter this country. For the Waiting list, we need to make two of them so that Europe, Russia, Asia, and middle eastern countries will have one and another for North America. This will speed up the process and make it quicker for them to come in but also for us to have a count of who is coming in so they can have an identity. Lastly, we need to lower income tax and raise sales tax so that the illegal immigrants are still contributing to the economy by using the money that they are receiving from their jobs. Hunter H. tutsar, . "Teddy Roosevelt Quotes on Illegal Immigrants." The worldwideweb. Free Quotes, 2006. Web. 4 May 2012. . "In the first place we should insist that the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equity with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace or origin." 383 days ago | Side: Laws should limit immigration.
protectionoint i chose to side with "Laws should limit immigration", was because of the way D.A. King described that “our borders need more strict protection” and no one else in the room disagreed that we have the right to do so. I'm all for legal creativity to keep immigrants here making their significant contributions, but "hopefully changes in immigration law and policy will make it easier for well-educated immigrants to overcome roadblocks that keep them from contributing expertise, capital and job-creating innovation."Whitehalll, Robert). Because of this I agree withstrengtheningg boarders and making legalization easier for all of those who have made America a greater place by being a part of it. This is not based upon race or ethnicity but rather "The laws" and our right as a country to enforce the laws as needed. It has been suggested to "round up" the illegal immigrants and move them out ofAmericaa, this is inhumane and against the American way. If our employers were not hiring them, then there would not be a pull factor to lure the illegals from their own country to come here where they know they will have a job because they will work cheaper than any other citizen would. -McGaha T. DA King was right about the american needs on illegal immigration.I believe that America should finishing building the border to prohibit future illegals crossing the border without permanent legal status.I believe that they are allowed here in the United States legally. The problem is when they come here injured or need medical help but don't have money to pay for help and the doctor goes and does the surgery but they lose money. Then the Americans hard earned tax dollars have to pay the doctors to do the surgery. They also get government money to live here and thats not right either. In some states like Georgia and Arizona have passed laws about illegal immigration.DA King said it right its not moving them out of the United States is not going to take a day or two but where does it stop. Also, a big factor think about the crime numbers that some of the illegals bring in to the United States. As noted in a June 2006 article, Broken, by Kenneth R. Timmerman, on a Homeland Security publication, "The report reveals that 45,008 aliens from countries on the U.S. list of state-sponsors of terror or from countries that protected terrorist organizations and their members, were released into the general public between 2001 and 2005, even though immigration officers couldn't confirm their identity. They come here for a better life and thats completely fine but do it the right way. Also one thing to add i think the government needs to look at way to shorten the time it takes to get people there green cards. But, it needs to stop somehow or another before we have another 9/11. I believe in the legal immigration process, I mean we are a country of immigrates we do allow people away for our borders to enter the U.S. I believe in this system because real hard workers from the other country would come to the U.S for a better job and would come to the nation legally. Legal aliens would work harder than any other American in the country alone. They would also understand how our society works and can learn eventually learn how to speak English and understand us. The U.S is a nation of multiple cultures because of immigration and from that our nation has become (in a way) a symbol of human understanding of different cultures. However I do not believe in illegal immigrates coming to our country is alright. These type of immigrates keep coming to our borders with absolutely interest in our country but comes up with a lot excuses of why they can’t go through our borders legally. Their main excuse (which always makes mad Avery time I hear this) is money. If an immigrant can pay 10,000 Paso’s” (which is 1,000 U.S dollars) for a “tutor guide” plus extra 2,000 in case this “tutor guide” threatens to take their children away by force. Then the immigrants can save a lot of money to move up the border and started a new life. There is also the fact that the U.S as a nation is suffering for the illegals coming to our nations to spread their drugs and there valance in our streets. It was found that 40% of the illegal population had a violent back ground while 80% have committed serious crimes in addition to immigration violations like drug dealing for example. The illegals are also feeding of our tax money as billions of dollars are put into immigration while our American families are trying to feed themselves, trying to keep a house and because of this government spending we are putting our country into more debt because of the immigrates. Secure our borders first. Let us know and let us make sure the American people know that we're taking care of the important business of dealing with the illegal immigration into this country. You cannot begin to address the concerns of the people who are already here unless and until you have made certain that no more are coming in behind them. -Michael Steele Srouce: http://www.endillegalimmigration.com/ Matthew (Ryan) Manning 383 days ago | Side: Laws should limit immigration.
First and for most the U.S should limit immigration even more because whether we as a nation want to believe it or not we are still pay for these illegal allies through our taxes but also our businesses and health care system too. And D.A King was right in saying first we need to punish the employers than the employees. The person as well as the business is at fault for allowing it to be going on in the work place to begin with. D.A King made a good point with tightening up on our borders which is a good thing entirely at least it will allow the states to know how many come in at once. One point that I would like to make is that no matter what we as a country do we will always have illegal immigration issues because there are many parts of the immigration process we would have to change. First and for most would be the time limit because I know for a fact that it can take any where from a year, two year even more than that in some cases. Like my Aunt for example she is Columbine and it also took her two years before she could get her work green card renewed and stay in Georgia and she got so tired of waiting that she and my uncle (whom she was already engaged too) got married because it was taking so long. It sucks how long it takes to just be able to become a citizen these days!! 383 days ago | Side: Laws should limit immigration.

First off one thing both sides can agree on are that the US must protect its boarders. It is a duty that our government has to us as its people to protect our nations security, and they can not properly do this if we have random people strolling into our country. A certain amount of immigrates are needed in this country to do the jobs that Americans do not want to do. But to just let in people from other countries to come and take jobs from honest Americans is wrong. Yes the process to legally become a citizen is long but it is worth it, to not have to worry about if your family is going to be able to stay together for another day. D.A. King said that its completely unreasonable to go door to door and round up every illegal citizen in the country and he is right that is just unlikely. One of the only way to not stop but to ease the immigration problem would be to punish the companies that hire the immigrants. If the employers stop hiring the immigrants will have no jobs and eventually leave and go back to the country they came from. America was founded by immigrants yes but they were going over to a country that was not established. And in the 1900s the reason why we opened our gates to immigrants was so they could work in factories that needed workers due to the Industrial revolution. Now we have more skilled workers working in factories and even they are being replaced by robots the cheapest labor of all. So as you can see we have no room in this country for immigrants to come over illegally and take jobs from honest Americans, we do need immigrants but only for the jobs that Americans do not want to do. I feel that immigration into the United States should be limited. Immigration should be allowed in the United States to a certain extent. If there were no laws there would be a drastic increase in people moving into this country. If a citizen of the United States wanted to move into another country there are laws and regulations that are mandatory for them to become a citizen there. Since there are laws for us then there should be laws for citizens of other countries. Therefore I agree with D.A. King because he thinks that the immigration problem will only be stopped within our country. We should enforce the laws because these immigrants come illegally and do not pay taxes and take our jobs. If they want to come to this country for a better future they should become a citizen and follow the laws. Which is why laws should, duties limit immigration.
