You're incorrect. The Republic of Ireland have repealed their 8th amendment but not Northern Ireland. The Democratic Unionist Party which is the largest party in the now collapsed devolved government in this backward part of the world have no intention of permitting this step into the 21st century to stain the purity of their holier-than-thou creed. They will impose their misguided and harsh religious views on all the citizens of this part of the United Kingdom until they are voted out of power. Side: I agree.
I find it very ironic that, as little as Catholics and Protestants in this country can agree on, abortion is the one issue that the dimwitted DUP and RCC decry in unison. It's especially insidious given that the RCC have absolutely no issue with essentially kidnapping young single mothers and burying their babies in the Church gardens. Sinn Fein are the only major party who stand with the average human being on this issue. Shows just how far the Church(es) have fallen out of favour with the everyday Northern Irish citizen. I'm no Republican, but given the Brexit fiasco, the lack of functioning NI Assembly, and the obvious problems a DUP-British Government alliance poses for the Peace Process, a united Ireland is looking more likely by the week. Side: I disagree.
