Yes because younger than 13 years of age shouldn't be able to to date. If I wanted to date someone I would wait until your out of high school because school relationships don't last that very long. In my school, relationships don't last long and I don't need a girlfriend at this age. I am completely fine without a girlfriend because then my girlfriend would probably want me to pay for most of the things she wants and she would probably drain me of money that I have. As I've said before, you don't know that school relationships won't last. Mine has. One of my friend's parents met in middle school. You're just taking away the chance at finding something that could last if you don't date at all. And you do realize that you don't have to pay for your girlfriend? If you go on dates, at any age, at the start of a relationship things should be paid separately. If you go to my school you would look at the dating relationships and they don't last a long time and the most people go out for 2 weeks and then they break up. What's the point of dating someone in my school when it doesn't last long? Also I their are barely any Christian girls at my school because many girls say they are Christians and yet they do so much bad stuff like swear, drink alcohol, and do drugs. I want someone with my beliefs. I think it's too young. As a psychology enthusiast, I believe that the exposure to children dating on popular television shows such as ICarly have sparked this unusual trend. At that age, most of the children do not know the true purpose of dating and are doing it mainly to look cool. 1

My grandmother was married at 15 and had her first child at 17. I don't know what she did at 13, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't watching iCarly. :) Of course, we live in a different age today, where we try to postpone dating and marriage far past where they are biologically programmed to start. I think this is because our society requires so much more education in order to be successful, but that's just a theory. What are we calling dating anyway? I think it's okay for boys and girls to go on what I would call "pretend dates" or "training dates" where they go do something together, but at least one of their parents is accompanying them, or is at least within eyesight. 1
