Is "America First" an Immoral Policy?

Yes

Imagine a person who had the personality philosophy of "me first" - no matter how much other people were suffering or how easy it is to sacrifice a little of yourself to help them: they have a resolve that they will always put themselves first.

Yes, we should put our families last and not lock our doors at night. The Liberal way. Hopefully an anal rapist never comes into a liberal's territory.

Giving is wonderful. The right is known for it. Being forced to give is theft.

You say “me first” but the bad describe “me only”. You cannot help anyone if you don’t take care of yourself first. The generous homeless person would help a lot more people if his philosophy was “me first”.

Side: No

Of course it is. Why is this even a question? It's not only an immoral policy but a stupid policy. See if you can guess what every single empire which has ever existed in history has in common.

If I did not feel the need to defend my position with any kind of reasoned argument, I would be the kind of person to agree with you.

I think Haiti should think of other countries before their own, don't you agree?

No. I think Haitians should have the intelligence not to arbitrarily divide the human race by means of imaginary lines invented by idiots like you. Any other questions, Herr Amarel?

Not at all , it's perfectly sensible . As a family man /woman would you not say family first and accept it as reasonable ?

What would a moral American policy be put America second ? third ?

It is not automatically immoral for a nation's government to put the needs (or demands) of its constituents first. Technically, that's what government does anyway.

What indeed is immoral is to brutalize groups of people, either inside your nation or outside of it, to achieve putting your nation first. You can advocate for your own well being without boldly and arrogantly blasting everyone you think distracts from that policy.

I don't believe so in that it's citizens do feel like we have no business "policing" the world when we have our own issues to deal with. Now when a country tries to push that view on other countries, it will become a problem.

It would be immoral for any government to put another country ahead of its own. “This country first” is the proper policy of any government of any nation.

I don't think it's really a question of morality. A government putting the country first is just a practical necessity. A country could not function as a unit if it put the interests of another country above its own.

I think it has the potential to be applied immorally, but it's not immoral in and of itself.
