I think that Bush was put into office to do a job, which he did very well for his first term, but I dont' think that we should have reelected him for a second term in office. He was supposed to deal with 9/11, which he did, but he went too far and I think that he forgot why he was placed into office in the first place, and that made him get sloppy.
So tell me what was his most prudent action during the first term.... Was it going into Iraq? or maybe giving huge tax cuts to the rich and blowing the budget surplus? Oh wait, I know! It was pulling out of the Kyoto treaty, alienating foreign countries, and asking congress to pass the Patriot act! No, no... It has to be when he found out about 9/11 and did absolutely nothing for like ten minutes. I hope you sense the sarcasm. Bush didn't do a good job in his first term. And he didn't do well in his second either.
Bush was placed in to office before 9/11, he wasn't put in the office to "deal with" 9/11.

bush used 9/11 as an excuse to go into iraq yes. however he didnt leave out afghanistan... weeks after 9/11 us forces were in afghanistan already liberating them from the taliban. Suddam was a dictator and during our treaty conditions after the gulf war he had to go through weapons checks by the UN... Suddam refused to go through them so Bush used this to put our forces in to get suddam out of power. also england and scotland and other allies of ours went to iraq to help get suddam out of power.

JFK, now that was a good president. Reagan was a far better president. In fact, Bush is the worst president in atleast 20 years.

He was not. He wasn't a complete and utter failure, but on the things that really mattered, he was. Iraq is a bigger mess than people realize. Invading a sovereign country on shaky grounds preemptively is pretty much the farthest thing from promoting democracy ever. He virtually ignored the mess of Katrina, lost our budget surplus, and ruined our reputation in the world arena. In short, he sucked ass.
