In over 80 years I have NOT seen one factual happening to prove, or even suggest, that God is real. I'm still open to proof, but it will NOT come from a Christian OR the Bible. I see NO reason to "worship" one who accepts the cruelty and injustice we see every day, levied upon its "creations" (or "creation") whether the entity is called "God" or "Allah". The Bible was "created" by man, the Qur'an was "created" by man, God and Allah were created by man ... figments of man's fearful imagination. If anyone wants to follow either I have NO objection to that, good luck. (Or should I say, God be with you?)Either.

once again the whole argument, "I see no reason to worship one who accepts the cruelty and injustice we see every day"....

that statement tells everything you need to know: you do not understand the doctrine of Human Depravity and the doctrine of Sin. Stop blaming God.

The biggest reason why these questions continue to get asked is because they are based from ignorance and lack of knowledge and understanding of the subject.

Then explain to us oh great wise one why we are to blame for the fact that God created us with such inherent flaws of depravity?

"I am the LORD who hath created ye a sinner, but when thou sin it is verily thy own fault."

The problem, lj, is that I just take mythology as a fiction. A thing that gave early man some kind of answer to things he didn't understand, A group of "superheroes" to protect him from bad guys or bad things. An answer to how he got here. We don't really need that anymore. "The biggest reason" .. why these myths go on is a lack of acceptance of REAL knowledge and a willingness to hold on to what we have been taught while too young to understand scientific subjects. I hope your belief "saves you" AND the planet (creation). It won't happen without science. Too much faith in your mythical figure won't help, listening to scientists MAY!

I have no problem with you "believing", many people need that.

IN other words, you don't have the charity necessary to believe something long enough to figure out what it is saying. You have a lot of very strong opinions. Opinions that get in the way of you ever really knowing.

See, you are leaning on your own understanding, and that is why you don't get it. It isn't about your own understanding. It's about recognizing that YOU DON'T KNOW.

The Supreme and Ultimate Reality is God.

If you deny The Supreme and Ultimate Reality, you are automatically wrong.

Your problem is one of mistaken identity. You take these created things as being God, when that is not even what those created things you reference testify of.

You deny God because the world is cruel? So you deny reality because you don't like the way it is?

That is exactly what you are saying you are doing. You don't realize this because you lack understanding. Open your eyes, clean your ears, and believe me when I say that all of your problems concerning God would vaporize if you acknowledge The Supreme and Ultimate Reality as being The One True God.

If you deny God, it isn't because you know better.

The God I believe in is The Supreme and Ultimate Reality.

If you deny the reality of this God, you are a fool.

It's amazing what you can get people to believe. Take Santa Claus for example, many children around the world believe this with their whole hearts and have debates about it at school. Because the world is so setup around Santa Claus, they have no reason to believe that he isn't real. My siblings and I used to be convinced that we heard bells at night and heard Reindeer outside, when in reality it was just our mind playing tricks on us, because we wanted to believe so badly. Same goes with the Easter Bunny and God. So many people are Christian and this makes people believe that there is no reason that he cannot be real. Many Christians accuse Athiest's of not listening to the Christian side of the story, I have, I have tried to understand but I still do not believe that he is real. It's time Christians also tried to see things from other perspectives, not just those of Athiests but of other religions too. Didn't your God tell you to be accepting of everyone?

I don't think God is real because the only evidence that theists have provided to me is the Bible which is a document that i don't think has any credibility.

The bible tells you that The Supreme and Ultimate Reality is God.

Maybe you don't realize that The Supreme and Ultimate Reality is what we are talking about when we talk about God with a capital "G".

Yet, this is what the relationship is built around. Relationship with The Supreme and Ultimate Reality. There is a right way.

TzarPepe, yes God does have a capital letter as it is a pronoun, that doesn't mean that it is real. Let's say I make up a person and I call him Bob. His name would have a capital letter because that is his name, not because he is supreme or the ultimate reality.

And yet you live everyday of your life with FAITH.

You are both disclaiming the truth of God and yet living with

the very evidence of it. Faith.

No, he's living with healthy skepticism that the bible is a load of tripe. Skepticism, that any sane and thinking person would applaud as apt for the context.

The bible has a litany of errors: scientific, moral, historical and more problematically in its authentication and authorship. There's really no good reason to believe that anything in the bible is a factual representation of anything. The only thing its good for is studying ancient language, and even at that, there are other sources written with considerably more finesse.

Logicaljoe, he is not living with faith, because he doesn't believe in God. There is actually more evidence to suggest that Jesus wasn't the messiah. Your username is Logical Joe, time to start being logical.

The God defended by Christian thiests is a transcendent, eternal and spiritual being. He is the one creator of all physical reality and existed before all of time, space, matter an energy. Being "outside" the natural world, God cannot be discovered nor refuted by science alone. For this reason, arguments for and against God's existence must be, in the end, philosophical.

I am surrounded by Christian practices daily, as I attend a Christian school. Personally, I do not believe in the existence of God. Here's why:

1. The contradiction in the Bible. Many of the Bible's stories, psalms and messages totally contradict each other. In Primary School, I asked my teacher why God would send us to hell if he loved us so much. They didn't know, neither did our school pastor. If somebody loves you then why would they send you to eternal damnation?

2. The Creation Story. So, first God made light, then water and land, animals and finally humans. However, dinosaurs were around for 165 million years. Humans were not alive at this point so how could God have created them a day later? Humans wouldn't have been able to survive with dinosaurs roaming the Earth.

3. Evolution. Science has proved that evolution is real. Two human species, Homo Sapiens (present humans) and Homo Neanderthalensis (Neanderthals), coexisted quite well, even breeding with each other before Homo Neanderthalensis became extinct due to inability to adapt their hunting methods. If God had created two humans, who just happened to be the same as they are now, then how do we have scientific evidence (fossils, rock paintings) to prove that evolution did happen. Evolutionists say Homo sapiens came into existence 200,000 to 400,000 years ago (depending on which evolutionist you consult, because they do not all agree on what a Homo sapiens is). Hebrew texts tell us that Adam and Eve lived anywhere from 5554 BC to 4004 BC, which is way after evidence of humans have been found.
