of course it is!!!! where would we be without it!!!! you would be as dumb as a brick and not get anywhere in life!!!! so it's your choice be stupid, or smart and do your homework. if you do i guarantee you you'll go far. so don't waste your life and be stupid while your at it. plus you are guaranteed to go broke because you will be too dumb to go to collage. so to those who don't do your homework have fun being poor and stupid. i will be in my office making big bucks laughing at you and saying i told you so! It is giving students an opportunity to show that they can do the work on their own with no guidance from the teacher, like they do at school. Also it is practice, something you can never get enough of. Students are lazy and annoyed at school, at least at home it's in a more comfortable atmosphere. Side: Yes

This is my experience in school, teachers give homework and then don't fill up their class time. I have had hour upon hour of downtime even following the completion of a homework assignment. I see no problem with the idea of homework, but I do feel teachers need to "teach" more. Side: Not Really
