Is Pornography Immoral?

Pornography doesn't actually hurt anyone. The actors all realize what they're doing beforehand, the viewers all want some sort of release, and everyone is happy in the end. However, sexuality is frowned upon in most modern societies as something gross or scarring. So that leads me to question. What does CD think? Is pornography immoral?

Pormography is indeed immoral. The most powerful argument for banning pornography is that in every single case of rape and child abuse, the violator is involved with pornography. It's time to clean up society and exicute pornographers.

I hardly believe that rape and child abuse gained steam when pornography became mainstream and accessible; they've been around for a long, long time. The majority of people who view pornographic material aren't violent or sex offenders, so I don't see why that makes pornography immoral.

Side: No!

There are very few things that can be branded immoral, simply because there is no definitive set of morals that everybody adheres to. Pornography is defamed primarily by religious institutions. But why? What is pornography? It is two (or more) people engaging in sexual activity for the edification of an audience. Why is this immoral? Is sex immoral? If you think so, why?

Side: No!

Pornography is an outlet for someone who wishes to remain celibate.
