Is President Obama overstepping his authority with his use of Executive Action?

Without congessional voting or approval, President Barack Obama used his power of Executive Action to essentially pass a bill that allows undocumented immigrants to stay in the US without fear of deportation.

President Barack Obama announced three executive actions he plans to take on immigration reform. The much-anticipated move has already drawn considerable controversy, with Republicans accusing the president of unlawfully exceeding the powers of his office.

Millions of undocumented immigrants who have lived in the United States for more than five years will be able to temporarily stay without fear of deportation, as long as they have children who are American citizens, register with authorities, pass a criminal background check, and pay taxes, Obama said. As many as 5 million people could benefit from this offer.

Is he overstepping his boundaries and breaking the law or are his actions justified and help these immigrants?

Yes but.

Of even greater concern, is the signal of defiance that Obama projects after the midterm elections clearly pointed in a new direction. This portends more division, more time wasted in bitter debate and all the while our debt increases, our enemies embolden, our industry dies, our leadership in the struggle for freedom in the world fades. No matter your political stance, we all need a uniter to bring us together, if we are to address the great trials before us.

Amen.

Obama is the perfect Liberal. A Liberal is an arrogant control fanatic who will push his agenda no matter how many Americans say no. Liberals truly believe they know better than the rest of us & will use any means to force us to bow to their will. The sad fact is that Liberals are truly ignorant buffoons who have the power of the Liberal media to keep them in power.

You dumb piece of shit, a liberal is a some one who promotes a liberal view on politics and law and societal issues. All liberals are not exactly one kind of person who can be classified and grouped into one well definable category. Your argument makes no sense whatsoever. Why don't you log off and go get an education?

Remember the Emancipation Proclamation? Or the New Deal? Both of those were Executive Orders which at the time were thought to be dictatorial and thought to be overstepping the bounds of the presidency. Both the Emancipation Proclamation and the New Deal had very vocal critics who claimed that these Executive Orders would be the downfall of the democratic system of the United States. We all know how much their predictions came true. I believe that sometimes, a strong executive action is necessary when something needs to get done and gathering bi-partisan support is far too difficult or even impossible. President Obama is not overstepping his authority with his use of Executive Action, he is in fact following a precedent set by many great presidents before him and setting a precedent for many presidents to come.

Side: No way!

The President is not doing anything out of the ordinary that his predecessors haven't.
