Is Religion a debatable topic?
I feel that when I debate religion its my theory versus someone else's theory, what your take?
Religion, its interpretation, different forms, and its effects throughout history are very much debatable topics. Claims of the existence of God are less productive to argue as they cannot be proven either way, but the existence of an afterlife and/or a god is separate from religion. Side: yes
That is true to a large degree. However, most people do not separate religion from their God(s). As such, the superstitious aspect of religion takes over control of the vehicle that the morals and teaching each religion should hold. I agree with the rest of your argument, but for the vast majority religion=God. Side: yes
God could exist independent of religion, and religion could exist independent of God (as I believe the case to be). Naturally, most people tie them together but they do not automatically necessitate or preclude each other. I also consider it unnecessary for the hypocrisy, bloodshed, and immorality of religion to be considered the direct responsibility of a hypothetical supernatural being. Religion is a human concept that evolves to suit our needs, where as a god, if they existed, probably would not be so fluid as to change according to the tastes of the day. This is the first time I have attempted to iterate these thoughts so they may be a little convoluted but in short, I meant that even though most people cannot separate them, religion is a debatable topic but God is not. Side: yes

Of course its theory vs theory and thats a good thing. It makes you evolve your theories and detect flaws to make it better. There is even the possibility to show the other person that she is wrong. I´m an atheisth and I love do debate religion when of course the other persons debates with rationaliy. So to get to the end of your question, yes, religion is debatable. You just have to find a rational person and do the same. Side: yes
