Quantitatively, I agree. He put a lot of time and effort into his work. This has nothing to do with quality, however. An author can be a better writer after writing one novel than somebody who has written hundreds of works.

If he wasn't, his works wouldn't be compulsory in every English class in High School.

it's really all a matter of opinion. Although i do like some of the stories he comes up with, i just hate the writing style. I like realism and character study (like Stephen King or J.D. Salinger).

Shakespeare didn't create that sense of realism.
