I don't see the need for comparison. Football is, quite frankly, a sport above and beyond the conventional dimensions of American football, which will henceforth be called Handegg to remove any confusion.

Football is a technically more difficult sport to learn, play and (eventually (hopefully)) master than Handegg. It requires more running than Handegg. And the amount of time the game is actually played in Football dwarfs the actual playing time in a Handegg match.

Side: Yes, it clearly is.

I hat it when people call soccer football, so I've got to say that football is better. Plus I'm ALL-AMERICAN!

Side: No, I do not think so.

Nobody cares where your from or 'how much' of an American you are.

Turns out we were calling it football before Columbus had even set sail, so you don't have much of a right to "hate it".

You don't really have much of a point. Are you saying that you prefer handegg to football because we call it football and you want to call handegg football? That's not really a justification for why you prefer the sport.

Side: Yes, it clearly is.

Firstly, the sport referred to as 'soccer' is actually called football. The name of the sport actually has relevance to how to the sport is played, unlike American football, which has far more in common with rugby (just with far more padding than rugby).

Secondly, American football is filled with time outs and pauses and an insane number of advert breaks. In football, there is only one break between halves, and not nearly as many stoppages. The game flows far better.

Futbol is a boring, long game that is pretty much nothing but running around kicking a ball and going home tied 0 - 0. Football requires you to run, block, tackle, catch, hit and juke and if you see a 0-0 tie the game just started.

Soccer players are definately athletes and by no means do I think what they do is easy. The only reason soccer fans even get crazy is because they pay alot for tickets and beer and don't see 1 point scored or maybe only 1 point scored. FOOTBALL BEATS THE HELL OUT OF SOCCER.

Side: No, I do not think so.

American football is way better than soccer!... now Football as the non American world knows it is a way better sport than American football! Soccer which is the American version football... honestly... It's hard to watch.

Side: No, I do not think so.

Very debatable considering soccer or futball or football is better than american football.....

100% Soccer in this poll would beat American Football

100% American Football would beat Soccer in this poll

It comes down to which has been played longer...

Soccer is the #1 played sport in the world

American Football is #1 watched sport in the world(superbowl)<<(dont even argue it)

Forntunatly i would pick american soccer just because theres a diffrent concept between learning how to play then actually playing.

American football is harder to master and there is less players on proffesional teams

Soccer more players easier to master and more players on proffesional teams.

it really comes down to is that i dont care and i get bored watching 90 mins of bullshit were there is times that i see a fag flopping on the ground and were i watch another show were there is obvi a team u know whats going to win and someone gets shit on.

American Football is #1 watched sport in the world(superbowl)<<(dont even argue it)

What you didn't mention is that American football's audience is nearly entirely domestic- football's global appeal is far wider, as the TV rating shows.

Side: Yes, it clearly is.

Soccer is boring. Someone goes around with a ball passes it then the other team steals it. While football they might inercept, steal the ball from the other guys hand, and might catch it or not.

Side: No, I do not think so.

American Football rules! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! !

actually it depend's on people. but i make an opinion that americam footbal is better than soccer due to the fact that this sport is more colorful and intense for the fans, exactly for me. and in american footbal players cannot get to fake injuries rather than in soccer. in additional, in american footbal you can show all your physical and mental abilities: strength, speed, critical thinking, strategic thinking and technique.

Well, In American Football you get a game plan.

In soccer you have to know what's going on at all times.

You have to know where the ball is. Where your team mates are. And to think ahead of the other person.

Plus Soccer is super physical. You do get real injuries too.

You can also fake an injury in any sport you want.

Also, You have so much padding in American Football.

Soccer all you got are Shin Guards.

Well actually in soccer you use all of them too just cause you dont have a game plan doesnt mean we cant use strategic thinking. in order to know where to pass and where to dribble the ball you need to know a straedegy that may have just came up with in like what 2 minutes.

And on top of that you can fake a injury in any damn sport bitch!!!!!!!

Side: Yes, it clearly is.

I will not say "better", but for me American Football is more is interesting. At the begining i thought that AF is stupid game, where players just hustle with each other, but then i realize that there is a deep strategy in this "hustles".

Side: No, I do not think so.

it's hard to say which sport is better it depends on people, for me football it's like eleven people on the field just kickng the ball without a big fantasy, at the same time american football more concerned on teeam play where achieving the goal is impossible without team working. One can say that football do the same, but in reality one footbolist can go through the whole filed without help of teammates.

In American football you are developing all group of muscules: legs, hands, body, even head, when football is the game where you jsut kick the ball.

Side: No, I do not think so.

i like soccer better just being devils advocate.

soccer is only most popular sport on planet because it is cheap to play. other sports like hockey and football would be most popular if everyone had money. Also some rich countries have cultural connections to soccer which started because of lack of money. so in countries with money who had neutral cultural connection like canada and us other sports like baseball, basketball, hockey, and most importantly football are more popular.

Side: No, I do not think so.
