Is Tiger Woods the best golfer ever?

If his career ended today and you based it on numbers, no. If you were to judge him on skill, impact on the game, and numbers in relation to the span of his career thus far, ABSOLUTELY.

The calibur at which pros play in relation to the typical amatuer is amazing. Tiger is a pro among pros. He may not win every time (he is always a favorite), but he puts the heat on the other players and his presence is always felt. In fact Sergio just won in a playoff against a no name journey man and the first thing he did was thanks Tiger for not playing.

If amateur golfers are at walking speed, then pros drive on a highway, and Tiger is on a jet plane with no one else in the sky. If he is not considered the best ever today, it's just a technicality of time...and he has 25 more years of playing left at least.

He was, but it is now 2015 and something happened to Tiger and he is performing so badly in all of the tournaments.

He has won four straight PGA Tour events and six of the last seven while winning five straight official tournaments around the world. What more evidence do you need?

DUMBEST QUESTION YET. Watch him win the slam (again) and then try to argue against.

I still think it's too early to crown him as the best golfer EVER. Sure, he's had an amazing streak and seems likely to go down in history as one of the greatest. But I don't think he's earned that title yet. What about Jack Nicklaus' 18 major championships and 73 PGA Tour victories?
