Is Trump going to make good on his threat....
Opinions on the President aside, do you believe Trump will make good on his threat to stop all trade with any country doing business with North Korea? The threat has been made, if he does, how do you believe it would affect the US? If he doesn't and China calls his bluff, do you think he'd be seen as weak or do you think he'll try something else? Do you support such action?
Making hollow threats will greatly weaken Trump's future negotiating position as his adversaries will treat his warnings with the same incredulity as the boy who cried wolf.
A barking dog usually poses no threat, it's the one who quietly lies in wait for you and then pounces with snapping fangs.
He should heed the old adage;- It not what you say or think that's important.
Since Trump was elected, illegal immigrtion dropped substancially on the mere threat of tougher immigration laws. IT WORKS!
Trump talked tough on getting our allied Nato nations to start paying their fare share for military support arond the world instead of America alwats footing the majority of the bill.
It has also worked. They are finally starting to pay more.
Trump is saying all the right things when it comes to ddrsssing our tx code nd the harm to our jobs when companies are forced to move their businesses oversea for less taxes.
We just had 3% GDP growth in Trump's first six months on the sound tax policies he is talking about.
Lets hope Congress does what he wants. They will probably get very few Democrat votes so it will have to be all GOP votes to get anything passed.
If it does not have to do with buying votes by redistributing tax payer money to the Democrat's base, they will not give Trump one vote.
Tough talk does work. We are seeing it before our eyes. I hope we don't have to go to a trade war eith China before they start improving their policies.
Tough talk can be a good card to play but if the people he's gambling against up the ante do you think he'll actually bring action, or is it all just talk?
Oh I have no doubt that such an action could and would hurt China, but would would Trump actually do it? The potential to hurt China is one thing but it can hurt the US as well.
In reality, whether the juice would be worth the squeeze is hard to know. But if we sat there playing roulette with them, they're economy would collapse first. That's not a proposal to do it or not do it.
Yeah, his tough talk to the Mexican President really worked, Mexico isn't going to build that wall like he said they would. It works some times, not always.
Sure it's easy to ignore when you don't have a response. Especially when I already said I don't envy his position and I hope he does well. But hey, if you think your best response to that is to ignore then I guess that actually kind of proves my point.
Trump plays poker. He doesn't let you see his hand and always acts like he has the cards. It's strategy. The last President didn't have a temperment that gets the best deal. He had a temperment that just tries to not piss too many people off.
Trump has yet to prove any of his strategies for accomplishing his agenda have worked. You give him way to much credit if you think he has a plan for N. Korea. He needs to get Japan and S. Korea to agreed on a strategy that is acceptable to the 3 countries. He cannot do this alone regardless of his over inflated ego that doesn't allow him to see the importance of a consensus.
I tend to agree. I think a good move would be to put pressure on those countries supporting N.K however cutting trade would have the potential to hurt us a bit more and I don't know if we are that self-sacrificing a country to push that if the bluff is called.
Who knows what Trump is going to do about North Korea but that disaster was left by Barack Obama and the American Left wants the disaster left by Obama to be fixed immediately !
Pick any sports team Mint do you think for one minute that sports team telegraphs their game plan to the opponent ? What happened under a weak leader like Obama is that the Left wanted and needed Obama's game plan and he gave it to them. That is truly the sign of a weak leader !
I believe if you carefully read the topic it asks:
"...do you believe Trump will make good on his threat to stop all trade with any country doing business with North Korea? The threat has been made, if he does, how do you believe it would affect the US? If he doesn't and China calls his bluff, do you think he'd be seen as weak or do you think he'll try something else? Do you support such action?"
Oye, you really like to twist as much as you can. Again I pose that this is your only form of exercise.
If you can't get your reading comprehension up by now then there's no help for you. As my previous response was:
"...do you believe Trump will make good on his threat to stop all trade with any country doing business with North Korea? The threat has been made, if he does, how do you believe it would affect the US? If he doesn't and China calls his bluff, do you think he'd be seen as weak or do you think he'll try something else? Do you support such action?"
Answer the questions posed on this or be ignored. It's really going to be that simple. I won't ban you for going off topic or twisting words but I won't spend more of my time on something so obvious that even you should be able to get it. If you can't answer the questions then by all means, keep ignoring them in favor of your nonsense.
