No, murder is described as ''the unlawful, premeditated killing of one human being by another.'' An embryo is described as an unborn offspring in the process of development. A fetus is defined as an unborn offspring more than eight weeks after conception. As neither of these two legal descriptions refer to the offspring as human beings their termination cannot be legally described as murder. The moral considerations surrounding this emotive issue will rage on forever. My view is that the only person qualified to make the decision to terminate a pregnancy is the mother-to-be. She, and she alone has the right to decide what happens to her body. Side: No.
As neither of these two legal descriptions refer to the offspring as human beings According to uslegal.com “A fetus is typically defined as a developing human at a certain point after conception to birth.” Side: Yes.
That description is more or less the same as most dictionaries. I guess it's a matter of interpretation and we have to decide whether or not a developing human should be considered as a fully developed human being. According to the law it is not, and that's good enough for me. Side: Yes.
I disagree completely. The descriptions given are legal descriptions, but does that mean we should believe everything that claims to be "legal"? A developing fetus or embryo is a human being in development. It being "unborn offspring" does not mean that it is not offspring. It is a human being, not yet fully formed, but living. It is a life, so the deliberate killing of any life is murder, even if that life is inside of something else. Therefore, abortion is murder. Side: Yes.
