Physical Addiction happens when the body comes to know a chemical in a similar fashion to how it knows air or food. Psychological Addiction happens when the mind comes to know a chemical in a similar fashion to how it knows air or food. You can choose to suffocate yourself, but you can't do it with your own hands(you'll pass out and your grip will relax first). You can choose not to eat, and you'll wither away. Despite what alcoholics proclaim, addiction is not a disease, yet it is sadly an life choice. Alcoholics and drug addicts attempt to correlate an addiction to a disease as a excuse to justify their bad choices in life. WHY? Cancer is a disease because it is controllable.
