Physical Addiction happens when the body comes to know a chemical in a similar fashion to how it knows air or food. Psychological Addiction happens when the mind comes to know a chemical in a similar fashion to how it knows air or food. You can choose to suffocate yourself, but you can't do it with your own hands(you'll pass out and your grip will relax first). You can choose not to eat, and you'll wither away. You can choose not to be an addict, but that doesn't mean your not going to consume the addicting substance and if it does it means your going to have withdrawals(that act as a type of extreme hunger pain, you'll feel like your starving to death). 988 days ago | Side: YES, look at the Hoff
Most addictions can be treated medically as some disease and the number of drugs to treat virtually any addiction is growing and growing. However, there is always responsibility and a medical diagnosis for an addiction is not an excuse for the behaviour. 950 days ago | Side: yes

Despite what alcoholics proclaim, addiction is not a disease, yet it is sadly an life choice. Alcoholics and drug addicts attempt to correlate an addiction to a disease as a excuse to justify their bad choices in life. WHY? Cancer is a disease because it is controllable. Alcoholism is a personal choice. Nobody forces anyone to drink heavy volumes of alcohol or take high volumes of drugs. 989 days ago | Side: NO, clearly a choice
ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE DEFINITELY A CHOICE, NOT A DISEASE, THE FACT THAT IT HAS BEEN LABELED A DISEASE HAS LED MANY TO CONTINUE ON IN THIER HABITS AND TO GIVE UP HOPE BECAUSE A DISEASE YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER, IT'S A LIE TO HIDE BEHIND AND TO CONTINUE TO MANIPULATE WITH. I DO, HOWEVER BELIEVE THEM TO HAVE GENETIC COMPONENTS IN MOST CASES, IT'S ALWAYS A CHOICE WHERE ONE LETS IT LEAD TO. A MAJOR ,HARD AND SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE ONE IN SOME CASES, BUT A CHOICE NONTHELESS. 950 days ago | Side: NO, clearly a choice
