I completely agree that we are moving towards an idiocracy style society which is no doubt where the creators drew their inspiration from. I don't see how a unified society stands in contrast to this though, especially considering that the renaissance couldn't have occurred without the localized Florentine government of Lorenzo de' Medici. Side: Liberal Yes
We only have to look at what was "elevated" to the Oval Office, and the fact that the SCOTUS is still allowing Gerrymandering (NOT a part of the Constitution) to exist and destroy the ACTUAL value of the vote of "WE, the people"! ANYTHING that interferes with that vote, and is allowed to exist confirms the "dumbing down" of our politics! BOTH sides are guilty of this, but the computer age has pushed it far beyond its original ability to damage our democracy! Side: Conservative Yes
The Founding Fathers must be turning in their graves at what has happened to the grand ideas in the modern United States. They passed on a Constitution which enshrined noble ideas about democracy but it takes people to implement it. Intelligent, compassionate, and visionary people are needed to represent an informed citizenry as public servants in the three branches of government but this is not happening. There is a coarse boastful narcissist in the Oval Office, Republican servants of the rich in Congress, and an ill-informed public. Even the Supreme Court is mostly composed of Republican yes-men. Did you ever see such a big black lazy lump like Clarence Thomas! It is a Right mess. Side: Conservative Yes

Big, lazy PERVERTED lump. If that "controlled SCOTUS does not make Gerrymandering un-Constitutional we will NEVER have another fair, Constitutional election. Goodbye, democracy! Computerization has made it a controlled vote (as in communist nations), the winner can (almost) be predicted in advance! Side: Liberal Yes
